832. My second choice would be Power Pro SS8

I am a huge fluorocarbon user but the past month I've given braid a chance and I'm starting to like it a lot more than I use to. I've tried braid in the past for everything and I wasn't a huge fan. I tried using 50lb on jigs and Trigs before but I just didn't like it. once I started using 30lb I liked it a lot more. Baits like cranks and bladed jigs I'm not using anything but fluorocarbon but anything else I may use with braid.

I'd get the 13 Met. It's is a phenomenal reel. I think it is much better built than the core. I have both the 13 and 16 Met and I personally still like the 13 Met a little more if I'm going to be completely honest. I just feel that the 16 Met is a little more finicky than the 13 Met. 16 Met casts a bit farther and is a little bit smoother but nothing crazy IMO

Honestly I don't listen to any reviews unless it comes from websites that give honest reviews of tackle after extensive use such as TackleTour or ***. Reviews from people on TW are always ridiculous "This rod sucks it broke when I tried boat flipping a 6.5lber" "This $90 rod is more sensitive than my NRX" People tend to exaggerate things a bit and make up information

For trailers I like sideways rigged Rage Bugs and Pit bosses and 3.8 keitechs. I use the Keitechs when i'm trying to get the bait to stay down in the water column or just trying to get a bigger profile. I use the Rage bugs and Pit bosses when I want a smaller profile and/or want to keep it up in the water column. For what it's worth my favorite bladed jig is a Picasso Shock Blade and if I could only have 1 trailer it would be the 3.8 Keitech.

This is where understanding what they are feeding on at a given moment comes into play. If you see lots of bait such as shad around throw something that looks like a shad such as smoke, or white. If you see a lot of craws or gobies around throw baits in green pumpkin, watermelon ect.

They are not dead. They are nice rods and have a lot of different models for different applications. However, I personally think that there are some better options out there for the price. This is coming from someone who use to use Dobyns Champions and Champion Extremes exclusively.

I just don't think color is super important in plastics and most baits. I just try to find some spit up baitfish or crayfish and try to match colors of what they look like which usually tends to be green pumpkin, watermelon, brown/pumpkinseed, and white. I'll add a little JJ's for effect. I also hate owning tons and tons of different colors because it over complicates everythings. I will even throw these colors in muddy water (unless it looks like chocolate milk) because the baitfish and craws don't magically change colors because the water is dirtier. Sure, blacks and chartreuses stand out more but I seem to get bigger bites throwing more natural colors in dirty water. However, I do think color is important in jerkbaits. I will throw 10 baits in 10 different colors and for some reason they will only want X bait in X color one day and a complete different one the next day

Maybe for the next MGL I get . I fished the EMTF today and used it for T-rigs, Jigs, and Keitech 4.8s (Met MGL XG is awesome for keitechs by the way) and I'm super pleased. Might be ordering a Perfect Pitch here soon since I need a new frog rod.

If there is thunder and lightning it's not worth it. Being out on the water with a 7'+ "lightning stick" is a disaster waiting to happen.

If you are using braid you need to use a mono backing or else the braid will slip on the spool

Honestly you are probably going to get the most precise measurements if you buy a pack of 7 inch senkos and measure them yourself

If you are using a spinning rod just use braid and a fluorocarbon leader. The memory is not worth it on a spinning reel. If you were using a baitcast set up, then I would use straight fluorocarbon. The big thing about fluorocarbon that is great for Senko fishing is its slack line sensitivity.
