  1. Huh I use 20# Pline 100% fluro on one of my jig rods and i like it a lot. I would definetly try Sunline Super FC Sniper thats my absolute favorite fluro all time
  2. I cant comment on the white ice but I have a few Micro Magics and Powell Endurances. I use to use all Ducketts but I feel that the Endurance is a more sensitive rod and has an absolute fantastic back bone. But dont think ducketts are bad rods they are very good rods I just personally prefer powells.
  3. I like reels as well because I love to take them apart look at how they look and see how they compare to different reels from the inside. Then i like to free spool and turn the handles for hours. I also like how I can customize to make them better or more personal. I like rods to but I will hold it and play with it for an hour or two but then i begin to get bored with it until I hit the water
  4. I've grown up around reptiles (snakes, lizards, turtles) and have owned many species of reptiles and I know people who own snapping turtles. Most of the big snappers you see are 50+ years old and to kill them just because you dont want to deal with them is completley wrong. If you catch a smaller one you can put them in a "trance" by "hovering" them under the water. If it is a bigger one or you are uncomfortable putting your hand near one (dont blame you) just cut the line just like a fish the hook will rust out. Killing snappers or any turtles for that matter in some states is treated like poaching and you WILL be given a serious fine for killing them. So just make things easier for your and the turtle and cut the line. It is a win-win situation.
  5. Just out of curiosity what is the difference between the TP and Team Gold. I love my TP's and I wanted to try the Team Gold but it just seems to me that it is a "prettier" TP for $40 more
  6. Spinning rod: 6'6M/F with #20 braid and #8 FC leader (finesse fishing) BC:7'M/F #12-15 line of your choice (reaction baits such as cranks, spinners, chaterbaits, etc) BC:7'MH/F #15-17 line of your choice (bottom baits such as jigs, t-rigs, c-rigs, etc)
  7. It would work but personally I would get the 714. I cant compare it to the max series because all I own are endurances but from what I heard they are similar
  8. I feel you i broke my ankle and cant go for another 3 weeks
  9. Powell Endurance 714 Shimano Chronarch 200e7 #17 Abrazx 1/2oz Siebert Outdoors Brush Jig in Falcon Craw with a rage craw trailer in Watermellon Red
  10. I would get either the bb1 or the chronarch you cant go wrong with either one. Personally i would stay away from any of the gen 3 revos after getting a gen 3 stx and it seems people have TONS of problems with all the gen 3 revos as well. But if you find a gen 2 winch thats a whole different story....
  11. I fish them exactly like a swim jig and use the same trailer i would a swim jig. I tend to fish for bigger fish so i use larger trailers like a keitech or a gambler big EZ.
  12. Power Pro, Power Pro super Slick, Sunline FX2, Suffix 832 imo your best bet would be with the Sunline FX2
  13. I have a few TP's a BB1, and an MG and I use the TP's for about anything because they are just a pure workhorse, the bb1 for cranks and the MG for frogging and all of them have quite impressed me and when it comes to reels it takes A LOT to truely impress me.
  14. Definetley the San Diego Jam its super easy to tie and incredibley strong. Actually I tested the knot strength of a couple knots last night. The Sandiego Jam had a breaking strenght of around 88-94%, the improve clinch knot at 83-85% and the Uni at around 77-83%. And as far as a good flurocarbon i like Sunline Super FC Sniper as well and often use abrazx as well
  15. I absolutley love the one siebert outdoor makes in Fogy with a 4 inch keitech swing impact in sight flash
  16. To me an everyday bait is either a search bait or a confiendience bait so for me i almost always will have a squarebill, lipless crank, jig, keitech swing impact fat 4.8 in Bluegill Flash (Only size and color that works for me)
  17. I did this anytime i wanted to learn a new technique because this way i cant get frustrated and give up on it to try something new
  18. If you shop online you can get powell endurances for 150 and I would higly recomend doing these are some of the best rods i have used. They are incredibley sensitive rods, vey strong, and have fantastic warranties if something ever does go wrong, and they are absolutley gorgeous rod imo. I love them so much that im replacing my ducketts and even a couple St Croix LTB with them.
  19. The Mojo is a great rod in that price range and so is the ***. Just a heads up on the *** people with larger hands tend to have issues with the omens handle since its on the small side and can sometimes be uncomftorable
  20. The only time I ue an alberto is when I use a rod with microguides any other time I use a double uni. In my experiences the alberto broke off more while the uni almost never did but this may be due to me not tying it correctly
  21. i havent tried berkley braid but i love sunline fx2 thats my favorite braid now
  22. Well if you want to use flurocarbon 15lb invizx is good but i prefer 16lb Sunline super fc sniper. If you dont want to use flurocarbon pline cx or cxx in 15lb are both great choices
  23. yup i did my dad took me out on his boat when I was 6. He gave me a spinning rod with a tube and i spent all day learning how to use it when all of a sudden the rod almost ripped out of my hand. I set the hook and started to reel as fast as I could. My dad dropped his rod and began to help me my dad started hollering when he saw it and i didnt think much of it becasue this was my first bass and i assumed that they were all that size. My dad netted it and took pictures of me holding it He then grabbed his scale and weighed it at 10.53. If i can find the pictures somewhere i will try to upload them
  24. Ducketts they are very nice quality and for such good quality they are a reasonable price. I cant speak for the white ice series yet though I have seen many reviews that say they are not worth the extra $50-60 and others say they are.
  25. X2 the biggest thing I would say is to buy something that feels good to you and can fit your budget. I have ducketts and a few dobyns i tend to get ducketts because they feel really comfortable to me and can fit my budgett.
