  2. Dobyns DX 743 is the best stick bait rod IMO but it is out of your price range. The Champion 703 or 733 is in your price range and is also a great rod for stick baits
  3. 6th Sense Spro Lucky Craft Rapala
  4. black and blue bladed jig
  5. Thats good to hear. Price isn't a problem and neither is stiffness I have fluorocarbon on everything besides my jerkbait and cranking rods so I'm used to a little stiffer line. I'm thinking of getting some 12lb for jerkbaits and 15lb for a squarebill rod. Hearing how you guys said it's pretty abrassion resistant could 12lb hold up from being banged up on rip rap with a squarebill?
  6. I'm a big fluorocarbon fan and use it for everything except jerkbaits and crankbaits. For those I love a mono/copoly. I have been using 12lb Yozuri and its a great line and all I just want to try something a little different. I have had my eye on Maxima Ultragreen for awhile and really want to try it but I haven't see that many reviews on it. Has anybody used it? If so what were the pros and cons of it?
  7. I personally have not tried/owned one of these but I've heard pretty good things about the Fenwick Elite Tech Bass so that could be something to look at
  8. I have a lot of 4-5 power rods so which ever one I grab to tie a jig on becomes my jig rod
  9. Why make a new Citica and price it around the same price range as the Curado? I definitely wouldn't mind a 50 sized Curado I though.
  10. Ah ok. Aren't they still producinng/selling the Chronarch 50e?
  11. Is the dam fenced up? There use to be parking just above the dam and I would see a lot of guys bank fishing off the dam. That whole area has a ton of rip rap with deep holes which holds a lot of LMB and striped bass. That's where I would fish if I were you.
  12. Once a year I clean the bearings in acetone and then I use a mix of hot water/dawn dish soap to clean the parts with grease.
  13. Where have you guys heard of a chronarch G? If this is a true that the will be a 50 size Curado I, Chronarch G, and a new Citica my wallet is REALLY going to hurt
  14. I had a boat so I usually targeted deep structure Silverwood is a pretty deep lake. However my PB came up near the dam. I was using a tube with a 3/16oz weight and caught a 10.9 I also had caught a 10.2 there on the same bait two years prior. The dam would be a could place to go due to the spillway and water intake from the california aquaduct is right along next to it and a lot of bait fish and trout tend to pile up there. There is also A LOT of big striped bass there to and I'm talking in the 20-30lb range. The lake's record striped bass is 55 pounds 8 ounces and largemouth is 17 pounds
  15. Hmmmm..... That makes me really thinl that the Curado may be going away. It would make since why they would have been on sale for a while if a new reel is coming in at the same price range. I really hope they don't though.
  16. 15lb P-Line CXX especially since I see you fish Silverwood lol. That use to be one of my favorite lakes when I lived in SoCal, infact my PB came from that lake.
  17. Same price and looks exactly like the curado.... I hope that doesn't mean they will be removing the Curado, I really enjoy that reel
  18. Until it becomes unmanagable. I have 16lb FC Sniper on my Jig rod that is going on 13 months strong. I do use KVD Line and Lure which helps extend the life of my line though.
  19. I use the LTB 6'8" MF I was originally looking at the MXF but to me I felt it was a little to much tip so I would settle on the 6'6" but I would handle both if I were you to see which one you prefer the most
  20. I had a giant Red Ear Slider (these are the turtles you will usually see basking on the banks or on stumps) come up and blow up on a spook. I thought I hooked into a 9lber, you should have seen my face when I saw it was a turtle lol
  21. I really don't understand all the arguing over brand vs brand on the forums lately. We all have our preferences of what we like and it what makes us human. At the end of the day we all have the same interest. Catching bass.
  22. The thing is he does not have the proper equipment. A 6'6 medium rod and a small reel like a silvermax can't handle a 1-3 oz bait. With this equipment he is going to have trouble casting the bait, getting a hookset, and would probablly result in his equipment getting damaged. The issue is not the line its the equipment in general and using the correct tools for the right job. You aren't going to screw in a nail with a hammer....
  23. you are going to loose a lot of baits with 50lb braid as well. There is no stretch in braid and very little in fluoro if you backlash there is no stretch to "give" so big baits will snap off.
  24. You do not have the right equipment. You need to have heavy duty equipment big rods, big reels, big line, big hooks etc.
  25. Plano Waterproof 3740
