  1. St. Croix Avid 7' M Shimano Chronarch 50e (You could get a Chronarch CI4 for $220 on JLS) I played with an Avid X today at my local Gander Mountain and I have to say I like it a lot more than the original Avid. It felt really nice in my hands and it may just be my next rod purchase. I'm a die hard Dobyns fan but have been playing with St. Croix for the past few months and I like them more and more every day.
  2. That is the best cranking rod IMO. I mainly use it for squarebills and medium divers since thats the majority of cranking I do.
  3. I think you maybe the only person whos least favorite technique is topwater lol.
  4. Boomerang Snips will solve all your braid cutting problems with one snip.
  5. Zoom Mag 2 in either Green Pumpkin or Junebug.
  6. Tie on a Football Jig Put on Rage Craw Trailer
  7. Biggest punching fish I've gotten was barely 2.5lbs. I'm terrible at finding big fish in the thick stuff lol. I just get exhausted catching a 1lb bass and 12lbs of weeds lol.
  8. Favorite: Tie between Jig and a Bladed Jig] Least Favorite: Punching, to me its boring and tiring
  9. Spro Bronze eye Koppers Live Target
  10. Black, Junebug, Green Pumpkin, and Watermelon If you feel like that is too much just bring Black and Green Pumpkin. These are what works for me.
  11. I use a 6'8 medium fast action. Some guys like a MH but the medium has worked for me.
  12. Well its not fishing tackle but if I was at Bass Pro I would have to get some fudge....
  13. I prefer the smell on my hands while on the lake. I don't think I would like my house smelling like it.
  14. thats where I heard about them. I check his website a lot for information and I found his article and video on front runners that interested me
  15. My guess is knot and maybe the line in general. What knot were you tying? If it was the palomar that is the problem their. Try a San Diego Jam that is my favorite knot and it has not failed me once. Also Spiderwire isn't a very good fluorocarbon. With fluorocarbon you get what you pay for. I would get a line that has a lot better reviews such as Seaguar and Sunline. My personal favorite is Sunline FC Sniper. My rule of thumb for fishing is to never skimp on two things. Hooks and line. At the end of the day those two things are what truly land the fish IMO
  16. I have just heard about Front Runners and I am vey interested if anybody has used them and how well they have done with them. They look like they would be killer but I am skeptical to try one yet due to not hearing about many people using them
  17. Suffix 832 is my vote. But I do like FX2. I did not like SS8 at all.
  18. 20lb braid with the 7lb Sniper as a leader
  19. I know it was revamped. I just find it interesting that the elite may be priced more than the xtreme
  20. So what will they do with the Legend Xtremes? Keep the price the same, drop the price to the old elite price, or will they just drop the series?
  21. I have no idea what your budget is but based on that you are getting a $100 rod I'm guessing you want a reel in the $100-$150 price range? Lots of guys love the Daiwa Alphas SV but I have never used it so I can't speak on it. However the Shimano Curado 200 I is a great reel. You can get them brand new on ebay from $130-$150 and they are worth every penny. They are dependable and will last a long time. Plus they are very user friendly.
  22. http://fish.shimano.com/content/sac-fish/en/home/products/fishing-reels/spinning/stradic.html This will be released at ICAST (hopefully)
  23. My favorite craw of all time and possibly my favorite plastic. I have around 15 bags of green pumpkin alone and need to restock on some black and blue. My favorite colors are Green Pumpkin, Watermelon red, Summer Craw, Falcon Lake Craw, Junebug, Black and Blue
