  1. Sorry for late reply, I just returned from a couple weeks of work travel. I believe geo g is right about the name of the canal. And frogflogger is most certainly right about the honey hole moniker...I have had a 400 bass day.
  2. Been a long while since I last posted. I have enjoyed some great days fishing my south Dade canals, but nothing compared to my favorite spot off Tamiami. I was able to convince my wife, for the first time, on Sunday to leave the house at 5am to go bass fishing with me out in a Big Cyprus Preserve canal. Unfortunately, a levee that only a month ago was still able to be crossed in a small boat, is now completely filled. I am saddened. I loved the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere fishing, hearing only birds, alligators and gar splashing on the water. Now I need to find a new favorite spot...any suggestions?
  3. Yep its the gated community. I have had a little luck at saga bay, mostly small bass and a few smaller peas. Caught while my kids were swimming at the 'choo-choo train' beach, but I have heard great stories from that lake. I have not yet been asked to leave any of the Lakes by the Bay ponds, but I'm sure it will happen sooner or later. Cheers
  4. Its been good lately. Doing some inshore fishing with my little boy and got out to Tamiami trail a few weeks ago. Fished the bridge mostly, wind was howling and made some nice little eddies behind the pilings. Caught a bunch of 1-2 pounders. Hoping to get out with my Dad over Thanksgiving. We may try the Big Cypress canal. Sounds like your doing alright in the everglades as well. We definitely need to fish together some time. Cheers.
  5. Don't mind at all. I am in the Seagrape neighborhood (SW of Saga Bay), but I have also done well in the Lakes by the Bay ponds.
  6. Just my two cents...I mainly fish my little neighborhood 2.5 acre pond (Cutler Bay) for the past couple years. And until the last couple months I caught vast majority of fish on the SE corner, now I am catching vast majority including 5 and 6 lbers on the NW corner. I am mostly using senkos, flukes and large worms. Based on my recent experience, I would say try to work areas that previously were not very productive. Good luck, and I hope you find the fish.
  7. Burning them across the top. Lots of noise and wake. I was not getting any bites with worms when letting it fall or on the bottom.
  8. I was able to get out to the Big-L the past two Sundays and it has been really good. The water is not to high and we have been catching some big bass. Starting at 4pm and fishing till dark with jigs and big worms burning across the top over the Lilly pads resulted in a 27 lb bag last Sunday and a 23 lb bag yesterday. I was really excited because this was my first time to catch bass using jigs. I missed a few really goods ones but still managed to land a few despite my novice jigging skills.

  11. I've been reading but not doing any posting lately. Loving this bass resource. Must say thanks to all you guys and gals. I've been mainly fishing my neighborhood pond the last months and its been pretty awesome. Got my new PB @ 7.9lbs (on a Senko, green pumpkin with chart tail). And for some reason the peacocks are tearing up topwater walkers at sundown (heddon spook jr and the live target walking frog). Been a lot of fun lately.
