  1. Gonna try it this weekend. Its going to be about 90 degrees and muggy. Do you have to have good visibility and rocky bottom for it to work? Will fish hit the Ned rig on the fall like a wacky rigged stick bait? I have green pumpkin and picked up Mud Minnow color as that was the only one avaialble at tackle store.
  2. I am thinking of getting into Kayak Bassin...Do you get wet easily with the Ascend D10? Wondering because up here in WI I would like to get out as early as May and then would fish into September, the water can get awfuly cold. From what I read SOT is the way to go...but again I would be 100% green on kayaking. Thanks for any advice.
  3. Haha that is awesome. I was planning on doing the same thing. For some reason there is a voice in the back of my head that keeps telling me I need more lures and a new rod...weird.
  4. Anybody use X-Factor Bomb Lure 10"? On sale at Gander Mtn right now. I have never used a 10" worm or BPS worms, just Berkley 7" love Tequila Sunrise up here. Side question; What hooks to you guys use for 7" or 10"? I have heard getting away with smallest 1/0 or 2/0 worm or EWG is the best? Thanks,
  5. What type line do you throw them on? Also, is there a particular rod length/power you like to use? I too, will be trying to get into bladed swim jig fishing as well as spinnerbiat fishing this spring. Thanks!
  6. Hey guys, I won this Hard Hook Spinnerbait on ebay and won it for $3 free shipping. I am not finding much info through google searches on them. Anyone have any expeience with these spinnerbaits. It was listed as unfished. This spring I am going to try and gain confidence with spinnerbaits up here in Northern, WI. I would think this would do good in stained to muddier water?
  7. Sounds good, thanks for the help. I think I will be picking one up in late February and will by seat cushion. I will let you guys know how it turns out.
  8. Hello, I will be purchasing my first Kayak this spring. I really cannot afford too much and saw this one at Farm and Fleet. I will be fishing lakes and rivers in northern wi. I have never kayaked before. I am 5'5" about 145 so I thought this small one would fit good. Also wondering about SINK vs SOP for a beginner. The Sun Dolphin 10' SS seems like a combo of both. Any opinions on this or suggestions are appreciated. I could probably afford to spend an additional $100 to $150. Thanks! http://www.farmandfleet.com/products/822998-sun-dolphin-journey-10-ss-sit-on-kayak.html#.VIxBJlhOKK0
  9. Thank you for the suggestions. I have yet to order them, I am waiting for my next trip down to Madison, They are building a new Cabellas down there. I think I am going to go with St. Croix Mojo Bass 6'8" and Lew's Tournament High Speed TS100H.
  10. Thanks for the suggestions. I am going to have to check around locally as we do not have BPS around here unfortunately! The carbonlites sound nice. I have $200 gift card to Scheels Outfitters so I am going to see if they have anything on sale right now as their online site is atrocious. All the suggestions give me a good starting point. Would anyone recommend medium-light rod; those are the only power I can fine for the Abu Garcia rods in that length range.
  11. This summer I fished the wacky rig almost exclusivley and had a blast. We caught bass using 5'6" Ike the Dude Combo, 6'6" St Croix Triumph and 7' MH Vendetta. I liked using the smaller rods more so. I want to now purchase a nice rod/reel combo that is light and fun to fish with; reel less than 8.0 OZ. A nice setup to me is around $200-$250 total. I was considering the following three rods; I do like Abu Garcia and Saint Croix products, the reels I have used are Abu Garcia, Pfleuger Priesident(really like) and cheaper Lew's reel which I like but is on the heaver side. Any suggestings for a Wacky Rigging setup would be great. Abu Garcia Veritas Spinning Rod; 6'9", Medium-Light Extra Fast $79.99 St. Croix Mojo 6'8" M-Power Extra Fast $109.99 St. Croix Rage Spinning Rod, RS68MXF $149.99
  12. Would you guys also throw Bladed Swim Jig/Chatterbait this time of the year? I seem to have dismal luck throwing spinnerbaits, I did catch one nice Northern but no bass ever on a spinnerbait.
  13. I was wondering the same thing last year. Switched 2 of my spinning set ups over to braid and will probably never go back to mono. You will get wind-knots from time to time but overall the positivies outway the negatives. personallly I like PowerPro but Suffix 832 is also good. I like one posters suggestion, try it on 1 setup first and go from there. More recently we have been using straight braid throwing weightless wacky stick baits. It may be in my head, but I defintiely feel the bite more with braid then mono. Also, the hooksets have been great and have not broken any fish off or lost any once hooked. The lakes I fish are stained so a dark green braid doesnt show up much so I dont even bother with a leader.
  14. Dark green both in PowerPro and Suffix 832 have seemed to work fine for me this year.
