  1. Congrats! Hope you got her back in the water fast, looks like a rat was trying to eat your fish.
  2. MFBAB, after reviewing your table, this meme came to mind...
  3. Goodbye and Thank You to my fellow Memphis Pond Hoppers! After a 12+ year adventure of moving all over the country, my wife and I have decided to finally head home. We'll be here in TN a few more weeks but I wanted to give a sincere thank you to Roadwarrior, 00 mod and MFBAB as many of your posts on here were my primary education for bass fishing. I'd never caught a bass or even thought about going bass fishing until moving to Tennessee and once I got into it, it was truly an addiction. I looked at my fishing journal and last year I went fishing a grand total of 110 times! I may sneak out to hit a pond or two before the move, but pretty soon the rods will get packed away. I wish you all of the best and I look forward to checking in here to see all of the pics. Jimmy
  4. Mr. Ranger, if I could go back in time about 3 years to when I started bass fishing. I would ONLY buy Senkos. Green Pumpkin. Couple of ewg hooks for Texas rigs and a couple of Wacky hooks. Roadwarrior's guide to start fishing with Senkos is golden advice. You learn patience. He is like a bass fishing Yoda... from Germantown.
  5. Green. When you park in that parking lot it will take you to only one of those ponds. It is Grove Pond at Grove Park.
  6. Tery, we've all but driven you there and fished for you... figure it out man. If you follow the directions in Roadwarrior's post or punch in the street address from my post, you'll get there. Or, try this link... http://bfy.tw/4TZj ...and then click MAPS
  7. The address to the Grove Park parking lot is 1615-1633 Dogwood Creek Drive Germantown TN. The Memphis Pond Hoppers thread should really be your best source for information and directions to all of the local ponds. When I moved here, I had never caught a bass in my life and had little interest in doing so. That thread and the guys (and gals) in it are fantastic.
  8. Fished Daycare this morning for an hour, got a real lively 1-pounder on a slow rolled spinnerbait. Lots of green, slimy algae from the shoreline out to about 10 feet. It's that time of year again that the Memphis ponds need cleanup, so if you go out to your local favorite pond, please bring a trash bag. Daycare gets especially bad because of the dumpster in the parking lot to the west.
  9. Weather in the 60s and 70s the next few days... who's goin fishin????
  10. Everyone I know in NW Florida has been fishing for and catching some solid reds and trout lately. Even in the mid-Atlantic guys are still out fishing for stripers and tautog. Stop being a sissy and go fishing already!
  11. Trickworm, welcome to the forum. What did you catch those girls on? Let em go?
  12. I've heard the same but never saw any luck with them. I was letting it sink to the bottom and then pulling it a few feet and letting it sink again. Both fish hit in the retrieve which was opposite of what I expected.
  13. My wife, baby boy and I went to Johnson Park in Germantown yesterday and my wife convinced me to bring a rod along. Tied on a RatLTrap and off we went. Fished the eastern pond with no luck. Moved to the western pond and picked up 2 two pounders right after each other around the pier structure. One had a really ugly looking wound on its side but seemed otherwise healthy. Weather was great!
  14. Fished on Thanksgiving morning for my first time since September. Hooked a few small ones, but nothing to write home about. As the Memphis ponds grow a little more quiet, I'd like to propose that if you have a chance, take a ride to your local Memphis pond and bring a trash bag. A few of the shorelines are looking pretty bad with trash. Last year I filled up an entire contractor trash bag just at Daycare Pond. These places are special to us, let's make sure that we take care of them.
