  1. love the baby d bombs!
  2. Tournament on Rush (chisago) 6/6. Fishing was real slow. Most guys found theirs West side, southern bay. Deep in grass. Cold front came in and really kept em tight. Wish I had better news.. next tournament 6/14 Green. I'll try to let you know how that goes.
  3. Interesting. I may try that sometime
  4. Which Pelican do you speak of BIG SKY?
  5. What's the good word gentlemen?
  6. Maybe a football head jig, or could I use just a plain 3/0 and dig up the worms myself?
  7. Sweet video!
  8. I prefer the full cork handle. So I'd go with the Crucial. However, the I've picked up the Zil, and it sure seems sensitive!
  9. The fishing hall of fame in Hayward has all kinds of old lures from the past. It's really fascinating. The one that stood out the most to me was an actual stuffed chipmunk with hooks on it... it was pretty crazy!
  10. Try to pick up what your lake has to offer most. My lakes have abundance amounts of craws. Reds, oranges, browns, and blue too! Or maybe they feed more off the baitfish.. Once you know, base your colors more off that. And when you do figure it out, it's gonna change the way choose all your colors on your home lake!
  11. Hologram Shad.. I bought a pack of these at a sportshow 2 years ago, and last summer I had them out in my box. I tried one just to give it a shot, and the smallies tore them up! Only problem is, I cannot find this color at all locally.
  12. They're just being real picky. Plain and simple. You put a lindy and plain hook with a live minnow and you'll nab every one of em up!
  13. I love catching the bronzebacks! I was into the smallmouths before the bucketmouths, mainly because our lakes don't hold largemouth, and i'd have to say my biggest is somewhere around 21''. Never had a scale..don't even want to try and guess the weight
  14. .
  15. hmmm. it's a maybe for me. Got any promos?
  16. Let's Get Some reports! Fished Forest Lake Saturday, club tournament. WAS A HORRIBLE bite. a lot of guys, including myself never made it in with 5.
  17. Sorry to be late. But I've only fished the big lake once for bass. Last summer in July. Fished all day huntin the smallmouth. So-So. Rock piles and such. But to my surprise on my way in to the launch, I hit some grass and pads with a worm and was crushing the largemouth! 2 to 3 fow. Haven't made it up yet this year. Hopefully I can get a fall trip in. Let me know how you did if you haven't forgotten about this!
  18. As soon as I was done watching Aaron's video, I had to run and get some shrink tube and try for myself. The project is very simple. Maybe 1 minute per weight. Took me by surprise. I really enjoy any kind of tackle rigging when I'm not on the water.. Will be a great thing to do this winter! Used my tungsten bullet weights all weekend and never got snapped off. Was wondering if anyone has had tried this after watching his video, or if you had already known about it?
  19. does anyone do any reading up on their own?! lol
  20. I just spent $45 tonight on some terminal tackle.. and I spend ATLEAST $20 every week during the open water season. In the winter when I'm bored I run to Gander or Cabelas "just to pick up a few things". usually if i'm planning a full day on the water i'll run to the store the night before and buy some new plastics or something. So do the math, and don't tell me!
  21. Hey! Just signed up for this forum. Fellow Minnesotan!! Fish all over the cities for Largemouth. Otherwise the cabin on Kabetogama for Walleye and Smallies. Going to Tonka' tomorrow morning with a buddy. ANYONE else been fishing tonka' lately?
  22. Kabetogama, Namakan, and Rainy Lake. Some of the best Smallies in MN!
  23. It's a fun lake. Crammed full of bass. Try the West end. Find the structure and fish slow with jigs, power worms/senkos. Good Luck!
