  11. What a great read. I won't lie, brought a tear to my eye, great story! Thank you for sharing.
  12. First of all, Welcome! Your question seems a little vague, could you give some more detail about "My Lake" and "My Backyard" so that you may get more detailed responses? You mention a boat, is your backyard on the same lake? I've read on this site '90% of the fish live in 10% of the lake', so sometimes you need to take that boat out and 'fish where the fish are'!

  17. Like many others here, if I do end up getting skunked, I make sure I learned SOMETHING on that trip. The other day after about 4 hours of fishing I had gotten 3 solid bites, but no fish. I had distinctively felt the now familiar 'tap tap tap' on my rod, but was unable to set the hook! I came home determined to figure out WHY, and after a lot of research on this site I learned that I may have been feeling smaller fish going for my worm, or needed to set the hook in between the first two taps before that big bass spits it out! As long as I'm learning out there, I'm loving it!
  18. This is my first year getting REALLY into fishing, but in the short time i've had on the water, My favourite lures are definitely a Watermelon 5" senko-type worm with red flake, and recently learned to be effective with the Drop Shot Technique, and loved using Berkley's 3" Power Minnows.
  19. Looks great! Let us know how it worked out
