  1. Thanks smalljaw67, now I understand the differences better. I'm gonna go with the more versatile 6'6" M/F.
  2. Thanks guys, I found a $30 rebate deal on Gander Mountain, and I think I'm either going to get the 6'8" MH/XF or the 6'6" M/F Aetos rod. I like my spinning rod to be under 7' so I can skip docks better, but which rod do you think would be better for senkos/wacky rigs/finesse/shakey heads/slider heads/jerkbaits/poppers/topwaters? 6'8" MH/XF or the 6'6" M/F?
  3. I really want to get a Fenwick Aetos. What do you guys think about a 2-piece vs a 1 piece spinning rod? Would there be any major differences? If I could get the 2 piece rod about $50 cheaper, would it be worth it over the 1 piece? As you can see, FishUSA offers Aetos rods in both 1 and 2 piece options for the 6'6" and 7'0" rod length models. http://www.fishusa.com/product/Fenwick-Aetos-Spinning-Rods Thanks, Dom
  4. Also It definitely is gonna be another 7' or 7'1" MH like my mojo bass.
  5. The majority of my applications, not my crankbait rod, not my topwater rod, not my frog/swimbait/flippin/pitchin rod. I'm using it for light Texas rigs, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, senkos, light swimbaits, lipless cranks.
  6. I currently have a Lews Tournament MG that is paired with my St. Croix Mojo Bass Casting Rod. I just got a new Lews Tournament Pro, but it does not seem to pair well with the mojo bass. I want a rod that has a nice taper with a soft fast tip instead of being too tip heavy. I have been looking at the St. Croix Tournament Legend Bass Casting Rod and the *** Black *** Casting Rod. Have you used these rods, what are your opinions on these rods? I know that they are in totally different price ranges, but I have heard that the sensitivity of these rods are superb. Which rod should I buy?
  7. I play to buy a combo for heavy applications such as frogging, flipping, pitching, punching, swimbaits and jigs. I plan to buy a Berkley Lightning rod as well as a todo 7:1:1 reel to pair with it. So here are my questions. 1. Should I buy a 7' Medium Heavy rod or a 7'6" Heavy rod for the applications above? ^^^^^^^ (I have read on Tackle Warehouse that a lot of people like 7' MH rods for frogging and flipping) 2. What reel should I buy to pair with it? I was thinking one of these reels. - Abu Garcia Pro Max - Lews Tournament MG Speed Spool (Already have one on my Texas rig rod) - Lews Super Duty Speed Spool - Lews Tournament Pro Speed Spool Whaddya think???? Thanks guys.
  8. I know what I'll do. I'll try a couple pad crashers, and a couple ish phat frogs. Thanks everybody.
  9. Have you guys fished the Snag Proof Ish's Phat Frogs, or just the Booyah Pad Crashers?
  10. Hey guys, I am new to hollow body frog fishing. I have been researching different hollow body frogs and have narrowed it down to two options. I would get livetarget frogs, I just don't like their all natural color selection. I am not crazy about getting spros because of hearing of bad hookups and water coming into the frog. Deps are too expensive for me, and the jackall iobee frogs don't seem to be all that good. Maybe snag proof Bobby's perfect frogs would work well. I already use Stanley ribbit frogs as my soft bodied frogs and rebel frog-r's as my hard bodied frogs. I love both of them. I need some advice on whether to get some Snag Proof Ish's Phat Frogs, or to get some Booyah Pad Crashers. What have you guys used, what are your opinions?
  11. I'm not sure whether or not to get the Pflueger Purist or the Daiwa Exceler spinning reel for finesse fishing with mostly charlie brewer slider heads, drop shotting, and wacky worming. Have you guys had any experience with the Pflueger Purist Spinning Reels? They just came out not too long ago, and not many reviews have been posted. I know that the daiwa exceler is a pretty popular reel though. Thanks.
