  1. Are you talking about the yozuri floro leader?
  2. What kind of spoon were you using, I like the looks of it. I've never had much luck at Houghton myself, glad you're on the board now.
  3. I have a 68 lmh helium 3 and it wouldn't be my first choice for jigs, I'd like a little more power. If I were to get another one for jigs (I probably will) I'd get the mh
  4. Awesome fish, got my first of the year from the beach yesterday.
  5. Haven't had much time to go out lately, but decided to hit the beach for a few hours yesterday. Managed to hook into 2 stripers. Landed the first one, the second came unhooked in inches of water and got washed out by a wave before I could grab him. Both were about 20-25 inches.
  6. Caught two small smallies today off a blue flavored jerk bait. I was mad a t first because I left my first spot then ten minutes later saw a little kid pull out a bass, then I hooked into my first fish.
  7. Order from japan, rakuten, jpangler are good places to look. I've never ordered from Japan but I know the dollar goes a lot further over there, could probably save a few hundred
  8. Got a laker out of Wachusett today.
  9. Same physical size but the 3000 has a deeper spool so it holds more line, the 3000 also has a T handle
  10. I had both, kept the xt, but you really can't go wrong with either. The reason I kept the pfluger over the shimano is that I don't really like the bails on shimano reels, they seem thin and flimsy to me, just a weird personal opinion.
  11. Pfluger supreme xt in the 30 size. Runs about 150$ a while back a bunch of places had it on sale so you might be able to find it for less
  12. If you already spooled it up it doesn't matter that much, as long as you have enough lime on there you'll be fine. Personally I use 15-20lb on my spinning reels and that puts enough on there to last 2-3 years.
  13. Went out for trout yeaterday had a few bites, but only caught one of them. For the first time I saw EPO and had my license checked. Nice guy we chatted about fishing, he asked me for my license and then went on his way.
  14. Went out yesterday after work for trout. Hit the ipswich river, got nothing. I did spend more time exploring than fishing, also I'm not sure if they stocked it yet.
  15. I feel ya, the wind can really ruin the day, I'd take rain over wind any day. I'm shore bound for a while, I need to get a new rack for the jeep
  16. x2 I like it better than the patriarch, and like it better than the saros I had.
  17. Did a lot of driving today, went to the new cabelas. Seems like some bodies of water are starting to open up really well while others are still completely frozen. The cabelas is pretty nice, smaller than bass pro. In general I feel like cabelas carries better stuff and I think this cabelas is no exception. If you're wondering if it's worth the trip I'll tell you that you won't find anything there that you can't find (probably cheaper) online, but if you're like me you probably just like looking around in those stores anyway.
  18. Anyone use one of these yet. I was just at dicks and I saw them, looks like missiles take on a brush hog. I'm a pretty big fan of te d bomb so I grabbed a pack and can't wait to try them out.
  19. I guess I just took it the wrong way, no harm no foul
  20. Not sure if that was a stab at me, but I have put in a good amount of time researching and have been speaking with a realtor. This just happens to be the largest assembly of people I "know" all in one place and I'm looking for all the info I can before I finally pull the trigger.
  21. When I look at a place what kind of things so I ask/look for? Pros and cons of gas, electric, oil heat? In the case of a condo what are the pros and cons of a large association vs a small association?
  22. Right now my realtor is pretty good about weeding out te ones that aren't VA approved. Don't have a boat, storage for my kayak is a concern but not a deal breaker for me.
  23. Thanks for the replies. I've already figured out the max I can comfortably afford and have been preapproved for a VA loan based on that amount. I'm feel like I have a pretty good idea of what I can spend and factor mortgage, HOA, and taxes when I look at a place. I would rather buy a house, but I have yet to find a sf house in my area (greater Boston area) in my price range that's not a "handy man special", and I don't really have the time nor the know how to take on a project like that right now. I guess what I'm really looking for is people with horror stories about bad neighbors, poorly run associations, general maintenance of a home, etc.
  24. It's been one hell of a winter that's for sure, but I feel like the seasons have just shifted a month. I was fishing well into December this past year thinking the water should have already been iced over.
