  1. Haha maybe someone else could write one, I've failed English more times than I can count. Thanks for the link
  2. I don't mind sharing most places, but there's always a few I keep to myself
  3. What do you guys think of the Seahawks lions game. I didn't catch the end of the game but I've read a lot about it today. From what I saw the Seahawks o line isn't looking good. Patriots - Packers super bowl
  4. What about a user review section so we can get input on one piece of equipment from a variety of people
  5. I usually turn to trout when the bass bite dies off, unless I'm going for lakers at wachusett
  6. Since switching to braid I don't like the rubber and feel of mono either. That said I do use it in my cranking rod, the stretch doesn't bother me because I'm not slamming home on the hook set. With cranks I use mono for the extra give, I don't even set the hook once I feel the weight of the fish I just lift the rod and put some pressure on it
  7. JJ Abrams did a great job revamping Star Trek, I'm hoping he does the same with star wars
  8. This should be the only answer
  9. Wachusett has salmon but you either need a lot of luck or put in a lot of time to catch one there.
  10. Don't let her get to you, she's probably just frustrated, and if she does chew you out just take it with a grain of salt. Know your company policy and state laws too, I know where I work they can't ask for documentation for sick days unless you call out 3 days in a row. If you know what you're talking about she can't intimidate/bully you when you go back
  11. If I could do it all over again I'd buy all shimano reels, yeah I'm one of them now, and I'd pass on the nrx rod. The nrx is nice but if rather have 2 rods in the 200-250 price range, you get 97% of the performance for half the cost imo
  12. I was hoping the weather would fire them up. I did pretty well until late November last year
  13. The pond near me was still sitting just above 70 before all the rain, haven't been out in about a week
  14. Only have a deputy, I was thinking of jumping right to the dragged to bomb 1/2 football jigs from shore.
  15. Great job, that rod looks awesome
  16. If you're willing to go to Sudbury check out Wachusett sometime. It's a little further but it has some nice fish. Wachusett can be very hard to fish and discouraging, but it is also very rewarding. As far as the Charles goes there's some access towards the end of the vfw towards dedham, used to catch Carp there with my uncle when I was a kid. There's also access off exit 17 on 95 (forget the street name). You can also go to the Newton Watertown line (on the 16 I think) Edit * you can also go to Millennium Park in west roxbury towards the end of the vfw There's a small pond in Wellesley I used to have good success on bank fishing, don't remember the name of the place or the street but if you pm me I'll drop you a pin on a map. There's also the Brookline res, I've never really caught much there but I've seen a monster dead pick on the shore, and there's another res in Chestnut Hill that has pickerel, they might stock it with trout too *the Needham res is near dedham medical, very small pond but I've caught some good fish there
  17. I don't have too much experience fishing ponkapoag from a boat, I got my kayak after I moved out of the area, but you'll probably catch a ton of pickerel on a spinner bait(not exactly a bad thing if you ask me). I don't think you can really go wrong fishing there, I usually throw jigs worms and chatterbait but that's what I throw 96% of the time everywhere Also how has fishing been lately now that it's cooling down I haven't made much time to go out since I started my classes again
  18. Hydra blanks are phenomenal blanks, but the cork they use on their factory rods is garbage. If I were to get another one I'd have a custom one built (just my opinion) For anyone with a 744 how are they with jigs 3/8 to 1/2. I'm torn between a 744 or getting another alx deputy or dragger
  19. Just let them take it, if your hooks are sharp it'll hook itself most of the time. Sometimes when walking a bait the fish just miss it completely, if that happens just stop the bait and if they don't hit that they'll usually hit it on a second cast
  20. Do you guys think I should start luck this week, so far he's been a dud
  21. Where in Boston are you, and do you have a car? For starters I would try to find any access to the Charles Thanks Rob, I've never seen a bass try to eat a duck before it was pretty cool
  22. Saw a bass blow up on a duck, made a few casts with a jig and caught this bad larry
  23. I need to try to nab a few more stripers before they're gone for the year
  24. I'll always love Ponkapoag, me and my buddies used to go there all the time in high school. Shore fishing is pretty limited, but being your kayak and you'll get some nice fish.
  25. Haven't had much success on anything lately. The Carolina rig is never something I've put time into, let us know how it goes.
