  1. That is the ONE thing I'll use a senko for, but only with the O-ring trick otherwise they're the least durable bait of all time and everybody and their mother throws them.
  2. YOU CAN'T JUST LEAVE IT THAT WAY, DOOD!!!
  3. Wow, that ito... I freakin' love those candy shop reels. Nothing like them.
  4. For ~$200, it has to be 13 *** all the way. Recoils and 40 ton Toray blanks... So impressed by those rods at their price point. Even the ML had a silly amount of backbone.
  5. They're very similar to the siglett- a sexy looking and well thought out version of a jitterbug. It's worth mentioning that there are cheaper alternatives that do about the same thing... But who cares I guess? It's Megabass and it's gorgeous. If you're looking for a sexy jitterbug buy one.
  6. NRX + Stella... Be still, my beating heart.
  7. Haha it's true! I'm in full on ski season mode though, which costs me way more than the fishing season... Complete impulse buy- or should I say surprise attack? Luckily I've prefaced lures from japan showing up in those funny envelopes as "stuff I bought months ago- sometimes it takes weeks or months to show up babe!"... So as long as I stay JDM and pepper it lightly I'm good to go
  8. Thank me later http://www.***.com/Lazer_Trokar_Magnum_Swimbait_Hook/descpage-LTMSMHK.html Single hook point SLAYS on toad hook sets.
  9. Whatever you do... DO NOT WATCH THIS VIDEO. It contains ninja bait monkey propaganda that you will not be able to unsee.
  10. Ah, the hand-hammered monkey! Little known and yet extremely deadly to the wallet!! Nice cowbell BTW!
  11. There was an article on here recently about this. The basic idea was thus: red/orange in the summer when the vegetation is creating lots of oxygen greenish through transition periods blue hues in the times when the weeds are dead and oxygen is low
  12. Kind of surprised we don't have one of these already and figured it would be nice to have a place to vent some stoke on our latest purchases. The bait monkey ninja totally snuck up on me this morning... I wasn't even looking to buy anything I was just cruising the interwebs and WHAM! I awoke from a euphoric stupor to see a Megabass X-Dad crankbait in Uchida Craw my shipping queue at a great price. THE JDM BAIT MONKEY NINJA STRIKES AGAIN! ooooh nooooooes hahaha
  13. Ok... That right there is awesome. Cheers to you sir... That is happening on a few of mine for sure. I've done rabbit fur, feathers, fly tinsel and silicone but never a worm tail. The old kicker frogs had me thinking about grub tails but I really like this idea.
  14. Worm boil... Ha! This makes me wonder how many fish I'd catch with bacon wrapped filet medallions!
  15. I live on a river and the fishing can be tricky... But a huddle bug on a standup or shaky head danced through cover almost always finds the bite. If that wasn't working I'd try a t rigged bento dace, pit boss or small Roboworm and limp it around the cover. Pretty much anything slams those.
  16. Hootie's got a hottie! The JDM bait monkey is even more deadly than the domestic one... Karate and ninja tactics! That all burgundy combo is sick. Nice work! Love a matching combo!
  17. 7 & under I like Roboworm or Slug-Go SS 8+ I really like Uptons. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person who doesn't throw senkos.
  18. My bait monkey senses are tingling
  19. I don't know about him, but in the fall I start cutting weight for ski season. I climb mountains and tour a lot when the snow is down so there's always a fitness crunch when the leaves start to change. My one staple is coffee. I drink an insane amount of coffee every day. Favorite snacks though? So many... Mostly lean protein though if I can help it. Nuts, babybels or other cheese products, dried fruits and whatnot... I try to stay away from too much starch and carbs until I'm in the middle of the ski season and blasting through calories like a hot knife through butter. One weird one that I've grown to really like recently is squid jerky. I know, sounds gross but it isn't and there's possibly no more lean source of pure protein out there- and nobody wants to steal it either which is underrated in a snack haha Oh, and meatloaf. God I love meatloaf. Makes such a great snack too- probably my favorite sandwich. I always make extra- or meatballs if I go that route so I can make myself a killer snack out of it during the week quickly. Pop a few meatballs and WHAM! Feelin' fine and satisfied. Can't forget beer though. There's food in beer too!
  20. Seriously, I've lost many a frog to the toothy critters. Even on 30# and 50# braid, it just doesn't stand a chance if they hit it right.
  21. Right?? Can't forget Kobe beef either- and don't even get me started on JDM cars!! Also as a skier I would pretty much give anything to ski chest-deep Hokkaido powder. That's it. My path has become clear. I'm calling the gf and telling her to start learning Japanese.
  22. Yeah but what would all of our families say when we never returned!?!??
  23. I just remembered that old show "Supermarket Sweep" where you raced someone to try & spend as much money as possible in a set amount of time in a shopping market... I bet that show would KILL if it was revamped as a fishing show. Too bad NOBODY could afford to send me thorough that place haha... One trip down the GanCraft or Megabass aisle and studio execs would have repo trucks showing up to take their cars before the episode was done being filmed.
  24. Zonda. It won't happen but I'll never stop looking for one I can afford
  25. Rods: 13, G.Loomis, Shimano Reels: Shimano & Lews Planning on reshuffling the deck for next season though. The Shimano rod is sitting where a 765cb glass cranking stick belongs
