I don't know about him, but in the fall I start cutting weight for ski season. I climb mountains and tour a lot when the snow is down so there's always a fitness crunch when the leaves start to change.
My one staple is coffee. I drink an insane amount of coffee every day. Favorite snacks though? So many... Mostly lean protein though if I can help it. Nuts, babybels or other cheese products, dried fruits and whatnot... I try to stay away from too much starch and carbs until I'm in the middle of the ski season and blasting through calories like a hot knife through butter. One weird one that I've grown to really like recently is squid jerky. I know, sounds gross but it isn't and there's possibly no more lean source of pure protein out there- and nobody wants to steal it either which is underrated in a snack haha
Oh, and meatloaf. God I love meatloaf. Makes such a great snack too- probably my favorite sandwich. I always make extra- or meatballs if I go that route so I can make myself a killer snack out of it during the week quickly. Pop a few meatballs and WHAM! Feelin' fine and satisfied.
Can't forget beer though. There's food in beer too!
