  1. I have a bucket but haven't used it recently since most pages have their own uploader- and this one was working fine a short time ago! Guess it's time to figure out what the heck my password was.
  2. I own an Antares DC and still don't feel like I'm qualified to make such a distinction, given that perfection is so subjective. If if makes you happy it's worth every penny ???
  3. This thing is anything but soft. Extreeeemely fast for something that bottoms out at 1/64oz. I am going to cast a 3" slug-go over the moon with this baby. One thing that kinda scares me though- that solid tip is mounted just a newt hair off kilter. Line guides are fine and epoxy is mint but I can see just a smidge of difference. I don't want to send it back but it's got me wondering.
  4. Finally got that Major Craft Benkei solid tip 1 piece rod I've been waiting forever on! Put a Daiwa BG on it and wow... Match made in heaven! Perfect balance point and perfect color match. Reasonably priced too, hard to believe how much this setup *didn't* cost. This is exactly what I was looking for in an ultralight with backbone! I'd post a pic but the attachment is apparently too big. Oh well.
  5. Bucktailing for flukes is so is so much fun! Ocean finesse is funny to adapt to from freshwater finesse!
  6. Why is your name Leftymuk when all your reels are righty??
  7. Am I allowed to choose a PSA 5.56 with a 7" barrel and arm strap if it technically classifies as a handgun? ?
  8. Are those the frogs with the boot tail?
  9. I choose gaper day.
  10. This thread has got me craving a 5 Guys double bacon cheese w/ lettuce, tomato & mayo. Cajun fries on the side and a Liter Cola.
  11. Oh yeah! That and try a super slow retrieve with an occasional 5 or 6 frantically fast handle turns mixed in as you work it past cover. Another variation of that is to slowly swim it along the bottom but then stroke it up high a few times along the journey. Or just burn it over grass/weed beds. Swimbaits and glides in general are just fun. The size, the action, the bites... nothing quite like them!
  12. Yeah ah that was the next option, but I figured Plat would have reasonable shipping charges. I was wrong! (Don't tell the gf I said that!)
  13. Lol well I just got the shipping quote for the rod from plat and it's literally more than the rod. Will likely cancel my order and find something else. The rod itself was a deal at around $100 but shipping DOUBLED the order. Nope. Nope. Nope. Actually pretty annoyed they'd misrepresent a transaction to such a degree. Wasn't expecting that at all having shipped many rods from Japan and given plat's reputation.
  14. The bait monkey convinced me I needed to purchase a light setup today. Picked up a solid tip XF Major Craft Benkei (1/64-1/4) spinning rod and Daiwa BG 1500 spinning reel. Gotta love that exchange rate!!
  15. I like the pumpkin pepper with the chart tail. Works great on a Ned head
  16. Welcome to the "have a problem and love it" club haha cheers!!
  17. Thats really cool, I have a vendetta against 2 piece rods so to hear they maintain their taper and true action despite the section break is pretty encouraging. Honestly not really into sub-32nd baits, so that 1/32-1/4 rating in the benkei/speedstyle UL bracket seems perfect to me. Thanks for the insight!
  18. This is exactly what I was looking for, thanks!
  19. I'm looking for a spinning rod. Mostly for panfish and trout, but the occasional bass does slam a sluggo or a slurpie. Likely the benkei line. I throw only a few main things with my ULs. 3" weightless t-rigged slug-gos 2" 1/16oz Northland Slurpie tube jigs Joe's flies spinners Micro jigs Tiny shaky heads drop shots trout rigs That kind of stuff. I really just want a nice crisp rod, as I really hate noodles. If their fast blank is stiff through the tip but with enough play to load up and cast 1/32, I'm sold. My biggest concern was more or less them being too floppy/noodly or too regular of a taper, as that would disappoint the heck out of me. Most of my rods are XF and I predictably lean that way. Coming off a cheap blank it won't be hard to bet a big improvement but I also don't want to waste cash either if I could be best served elsewhere.
  20. I'm leaning more towards a regular non-solid tip in a fast taper tbh, solid tips kind of freak me out in a durability sense the more I think about it. I think for the price it'll do.
  21. Looking around for a nice UL for micro jigs and such, and would love some input on MC's XF UL blanks in basic terms. I've never owned or handled a Major Craft rod so I need your help! I'm looking at a one piece UL blank with a rating from 1/64th-1/4. Nowhere near as picky with the UL as my other rigs, but just want something light, crisp and sexy without breaking the bank. Will I be displeased with a dead feeling floppy twig or is the blank as sexy as the little dressy details on these rods? Thanks in advance!
  22. That's hands down the prettiest muskie I've seen in a very long time. So vibrant!
  23. So I'm reshuffling the deck as I often do.... decided my ML spinning rod simply isn't light enough, so I'm trading it in for something that has a range of 1/32-1/6 rather than a 1/8-3/8. Hoping my Stella balances out with it, but if not I'll have to sell that too and get a 1000 sized reel. Also I've got a Lew's BB1 Pro full of 17# CXX that Would go perfectly on a swimbait rod, so I'all either pick up a Daiwa DX or maybe a Leviathan if I can find a deal on one. That oughta round out the package for a bit. The "middle" combos are dialed, but my spectrum extremes could use some polishing, as I love extremely small and extremely huge baits. If you fill it with crappie, it's almost like having another refrigerator!
  24. How is did I miss this post?!? I am the Operations Director at Magic. You should let me know the next time you're coming up to ride, I've never met anyone from here in 3D!
