  1. Wow $30?! Noooope!! I'd rather just make one out of stainless sheet metal and a bike handlebar grip. Weld-seal the handle and it would float too. Definitely makes sense for quick corrections or cleaver-chops to encroaching boats/sasquatch/nagging wives.
  2. Walmart is the worst. I flat out refuse to go there except to remind myself how lucky I am to be me.
  3. If you just want to get off the bank there's no easier or cheaper way than a kayak. Picking up a cheap $350 fishing kayak was the best move I ever made. Can't even express to you in words how big of an impact it has had on my days out. You can carry it to places that don't have boat launches and weeds are a non issue. Boats with motors and such are awesome but not practical or even possible in a lot of the best fishing areas I like to go.
  4. Weightless T-rigged worm/craw/minnow Shakyhead/Ned.
  5. I fish near a lot of heavy junk- pads, weeds, grass etc. I love working the lanes of open water between and around them but sometimes open trebles can be a real pain. Normally I'd use a Snagless Sally, a Supernato with a trailer hook or an owner flashy swim- something to that effect. I'd love to hear what your favorite weed-friendly vibration bait is though- I know there's a million or so options I've never even considered.
  6. I don't really think the differences will dictate whether or not you feel you made the right choice. Go with whichever tickles your fancy. I love my Curado I.
  7. See I actually think that is it's biggest detractor currently. That would be great for 100# but it's just too big and clunky to be viable for finesse diameter lines, cranking etc. if they had a much smaller version they might sell a bunch to bass fishermen. Not like that though IMO.
  8. Niiiiiice fish man!! I love Vermont. Such a beautiful place all year round.
  9. I love the notion that my toilets are plumbed to fill with champagne and I put 108 octane race gas in my lawnmower because I want this.
  10. Whoooooooooooooooooo caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaares?!?? Y'all are acting like if I eat a spicy burrito tonight you're the ones that are gonna be droppin' lava tomorrow. OH NOES, NOT $13.50!!! lol... I could drink crap beer, drive a POS and live in a tent too while we're at it but that just ain't me. Sorry guys. I do what I want. Fancy pants and all haha
  11. I mentioned this on page one. That thing SUCKS. The tail is so thick and stiff I literally never was able to hook up using it despite a bunch of strikes. I stole it's hooks to upsize the ones in a lunker frog and used the body as an Xmas ornament. Definitely it's best use haha
  12. The paint is to catch fishermen. The action is what will draw strikes. This is the perpetual frog conversation though.
  13. I beg to differ. The subtle nuances of the many styles of jug offer untold ways to enjoy your day
  14. Lost it hahaha Awesome fish Speed. You make me feel like I should be spending more time bumping the deep even up here in MA. Rock on man!!
  15. I'm definitely going to pick up a few of the sunfish because I LOVE frogging but I'm honestly kind of disappointed in the pattern selection. I was hoping for at least one natural pattern in Crappie/Bluegill/Pumpkinseed but they got funky with it instead. Oh well. Maybe someday.
  16. I have a Black Max/Vengeance combo at my shop that's been there forever. I was planning on giving it to a friend who is BC-less for a housewarming gift, but upon taking it out to clean it up and spool it I noticed the cast control knob is missing. I can't find the replacement part to save my life. I have been able to find the same part but for a silver max and I'm wondering if that's interchangeable. Big thanks in advance for helping me solve this ridiculously small issue any way we can. I know he would really appreciate it and it's not doing anybody any good collecting dust in my shop.
  17. They're on TW. Delivery expected "late winter". Colors are cool but not quite the variety I was expecting.
  18. Come on man at least post a link so I don't have to fully engage myself in tracking it down.
  19. I would never... But those who have some sort of compulsion where they simply can't put a fish back make my blood boil. Responsible sportsmen can do whatever they like IMO. Even within that "keep everything no matter what" sect though, if it's a means for survival, you've gotta do what you've gotta do and I can always respect that struggle.
  20. I can't honestly say I have a mentor, but I am ALWAYS trying to better myself. In terms of fishermen I look up to, I know this may sound corny but Glen is pretty much my fishing idol. He's not famous for anything except trying to pass on the love of fishing and helping people be better anglers out there, and I respect the heck out of that. The forum he runs is adamant about staying friendly and he is truly a class act all around- he is always happy to share or help. I hope he knows how much what he does actually does for others- I don't have any real fishermen in my life so for him to share his wealth of knowledge is an invaluable resource for me and I know I'm not alone. I hope I get to meet him someday!
  21. I love that the guy in the video's name is Richard but his nickname is "Ben". Well alrighty then. Whatever you say "Ben". I don't think that will catch on until they can get the size of that weld down though. maybe 1/4 of that length and I'd be more inclined to say it could catch on.
  22. Looks like you've got a new place to fish for crappie tho hahaha
  23. Aaaaaaaahahahaha "Sharkeisha noooooooo" I think you meant "snatched out in a catfight down by the train tracks" tho. Far more likely.
  24. It wasn't me but the Cops had a heck of a time searching the CT river outside Springfield a ways back when a fisherman jigging the bottom pulled up a big clump of human hair. They didn't find anything though.
  25. I've been through several and settled on my current- 7'2" *** Black HXF. Can't imagine how it could get any better but I could see how some might not like the short butt end. For me though, it's everything I ever wanted and more!! Light, sensitive and loads of backbone but with a nice springy tip that let's you bomb casts even with lighter baits and really helps walk frogs.
