  1. I think anything yellow or chartreuse works well. The booyah versions are better as far as i think because they last longer. Usually what you get on them is big right along the weed edges.
  2. One time i had a duck swim down and bite my dropshot before i could get it away from her. I caught a Beaver before in the keuka outlet on a spinnerbait. A snapper when i was little but he broke the line right on next to shore. This year though while out my friend and i made a makeshift anchor. Because our trolling motor ran out of battery and we were moving to fast to do we had to find a way to slow ourselves down. When the both of us were pulling it up we saw that a pretty big ship anchor came up with it, but there was no way we could get it out. The thing had mostly rusted away over time but when it was whole it must have been huge.
  3. I think that your right on the money with the duckett micro magic. The only thing i would consider thinking about is whether or not you want the micro guides. I think my next rod isn't going to have them because of those little cotton things that catch in the guides. But anyway, I think that is a great rod to have pairing up with your revo.
  4. I've seen this happen to a couple of reels, it sounds like a gear could be broken and missing a few teeth.
  5. OK thanks ill be out there.
  6. I plan on going bass fishing as much as I can for the rest of the year but I don't know if it's to cold to go out with my boat. I have a 19 ft fiberglass bass boat and the water in the lake is about 30 degrees. Do you guys think it's safe to take it out now? Thanks
  7. Getting skunked doesnt really bother me at all, the only time it does is when I know i am not doing the right thing and i havent a clue of what to turn to.
  8. Keuka is one of the most popular bass fishing lakes in the finger lakes, we are getting 4-6 tournaments a week with almost every tournament habing more than 20 boats, it is almost impossible to catch fish even when it is clear that you are right on top of them.
  9. I was fishing up on sodus bay, lake ontario and i also had just bought a quantium spinning rod and reel combo and Gander Mtn just to fill a place for wacky rig fishing that I didnt feel like doing with a baitcaster. The day after i had gotten the setup i was in a tournament in the bay, i was reeling in my senko and i heard something hit the floor of the boat. I wasn't really thinking so I looked over the reel briefly not to waste away time and then reeled again. This time pieces flew everywhere, on the boat and in the water and there was nothing I could do but rig up a baitcaster with a senko. It turns out that in a way I am glad that this reel fell apart and forced me to use my baitcaster for my wacky rig because I ended up hooking the tournaments lunker and there is no doubt in my mind that the spinning reel would have given out then and I would have been just short of the prize money. I went back to Gander with the spinning rod setup and I told customer service that half of my reel was in sodus bay, sure enough they gave me a full refund.
  10. I am going to Conesus Lake on sunday to fish for smallmouths, i havent been there ever, can anyone give me a few starting points for catching smallies on this lake for this weekend. As warm as the water and weather is getting i have to admit i am having some trouble locating and catching these browns. Thanks
  11. Thats Exactly why I have a boat instead of a hobie
  12. I have a friend who got an abu garcia cardinal S which is very cheap and put it on a black magic carrot stick which isn't as cheap. I thought that the inexpensive thing would break but after months the setup has held its ground and has brought many over 4lbs into the boat with ease. The setup is very well balanced and seems to have a way better value than what the price tag may suggest.
