I just feel like everything would break... the website says 28lbs.. further review shows 22lbs.. but still you got to have some stout stuff behind that reel to not tear up everything..
I know labor day is approaching and TW will be having a sale.. I am trying to get things as cheap as possible..
Will this be the best time.. or
Do you guys wait till a specific time to get your gear at good prices?
Any suggestions.. other stores and deals etc?
Yeah no sales here. and academy is cheaper on most lures.. and sometimes selection is better on certain items I use at academy so I typically go there..my local bait and tackle has higher prices but when they run good sales like they do 20% on combo over 100.. thats when I spend the big bucks.. they will usually drop even further..
Dicks down here doesnt have near the sale items you northerners get to enjoy.. they are losing out big to the new academy sports down here.. and we have a gander mountain on the way that will be less than a mile away
Yeah the cover she was in didnt get me just what she ran to.. And I could have directed her better going from a 6'6" medium spinning rod to a 7'3mh duckett..
Yeah thinking on what I could have done better.. I just wasnt prepared on my second cast at a place I have been to before and caught okay sized fish but nothing massive.. I just wasnt expecting it.. maybe I will see her again one day. its a huge pond though lol.. learning to always be prepared and use gear I am most conifdent in.. I no that the senko caught her.. so I needed finesse.. but I was using a 20 dollar combo and had a 240 dollar combo sitting on the deck..
Well fishing was fun today as I took a younger church kid out just to kinda bond and get to know him better.. its his grandfathers massive pond/lake..
2nd cast and I hook up on the biggest fish of my life.. I have recently caught a 7.5 pounder and this one was BIGGER by a lot.. well the water was super shallow and clear so I watched this all happen.. I was on a dock at the time that was four foot off the water.. ended up.. the thing went up under the dock and wrapped around a pylon and then coming off... wow.. devastated.. couldnt stop thinking of all the .. "I could have done" things.. and... so I ended up catching some quality fish ... but still upset about the one that got away.. maybe another day.. but seeing a 9.5+ pound bass come right under you and you cant do anything with it.. SUCKS.. stupid spinning tackle.. wish I had my duckett for that one..
I would get the most expensive four rods I could get my hands on.. then sell them for the stuff I would rather use.. and probably get about 8-10 combos out of it is this cheating?
I have no history with the daiwa rods at all.. is the ballistic sturdy, reliable, and will it be good for froggin.. just trying to make my mind up on going with this deal.. or maybe doing an *** 13 black.... THOUGHTS?
I dont know that I am brand specific so much as I know what I dont want... There are a bunch of brand Xs that I wouldnt buy based off of track record and review.. and feel.. and components etc.. doesnt make me closed minded.. just like durable tested and smooth
I am thinking to stay away from the ghost because of the insertless guides.. and possibly cheaper materials. .and EVA>. if that is what you are into vs the cork.. your choice.. I love micro guides.. but for the stuff you mentioned.. I would be using spinning gear with braid and flouro leader.
I am going to dicks tomorrow and I dont think they are having these sales... if not would you guys mind buying me stuff up there.... hmm i wonder how much shipping would be..
I am soo ready to have a frog setup because I want to try the R2S Spittin Wa Frog! * did a vid with them and I am so ready to try it out.. just have to get a setup for froggin first
Well A solution for all of you could be to send me the stuff you don't use and make the problem mine.
I would be totally willing to take on that burden for you guys.
