  1. Lol typically if I search or question anything regarding a dobyns.. I can expect an answer from you hahaha.. its all good man!
  2. Here is a list,http://www.hammerrods.com/page.php?Custom%20Pages=5 Shane the owner said he may be able to get a demo my way.. but it might be awhile
  3. Have you guys actually tried them? I am trying to compare to Duckett and Dobyns.. I have heard components and quality are much better than duckett. and i have spoke with the owner.. he seems to be a nice guy.. compared to dobyns champ with the deal they have going on the 40% off the second rod.. will make these close in price for two rods.. just let me know and thanks!
  4. I know Duckett stated in some interview (sorry I watch alot of videos) that they planned on launching the reels at iCast 13.. but that quality didnt meet his standards and they nearly "started over"... Ghost rods were supposed to be out November from one press conference. that changed to first of December.. which changed to First thing 2014.. lol.. Now I am looking at Hammer Rods.. lighter and guides are just a tad bigger.. possibly going to give into the fanboydom and be like Grantman83.... DOBYNS! CHAMP... haha we will see
  5. lol always.. I never buy anything full price... like really.. anything... I have not bought one piece of fishing gear at full price in a LOOOONG time! and I like the stradic fj for sure my bud has one on a duckett spinning rod and it is killer for fresh water and for reds off the coast... .. but I kinda want to stick with LEWs.. I had a buddy tell me the G2 speed spin for 59.99 is an awesome reel.. I will have to try it before I buy it for sure
  6. I am partial to Lews and Duckett.... this will be a wish list item for june so ... maybe Ghost rod and a team lews gold spin speed spin reel? What do you guys recommend.. Should money go more towards the reel or the rod.. (on my baitcasters money is more towards the rod).. This will be used for flukes, shakyhead and dropshot.. mostly shakyhead
  7. HE SPEAKS... NO LIES.... I would say a 7'3 Heavy.. you could launch a spinnerbait at 1/2- 3/4 a mile and a quarter.. assuming your spool is big enough
  8. Wow you are saying they are that bad? I have heard good things about them....
  9. Anybody used these? liked em? had any mishaps? breaks? customer service opportunities? and you get super points if you can compare with duckett rods.. thanks!
  10. I am about to put in my first online order of fishing tackle.. possibly including a rod.. I was just wondering.. when it comes to rods, do you guys worry about getting a rod with a flaw on it, for instance a crack in cork, bent guide, etc when ordering online... just wondering if it is worth the 10-15 dollars in savings... if I shouldnt worry about it thats great but just wondering
  11. Do you go for the better deal or do you try to support you local stores? This is obviously within a 2-10% of the price range, but where is your allegiance?
  12. I have a choice in two great rods in the morning.. need some input I have a 7'3mh duckett I use for ALL bottom contact and adding a bottom contact rod I want to have one for t-rig and one for jigging.. not sure which the duckett should be.. and my choices *** *** black in 7'3H or 7'6MH What should I get and then whichever you choose which should be the jig rod (1/4-3/4 ounce) (no deeper than 25ft) and the t-rig rod? THANKS
  13. has anybody used these walk the dog baits? are they worth the extra coin over a spook? deciding between one of them vs a couple chug'n'spooks.. opinions? thanks
  14. So I know that spybaiting is to be done slow.. and jerkbaiting.. well the name implies.. but what is the difference in application (WHEN TO USE WHAT) as I have never really used either.... very interested however.
  15. Welcome to the forum..you might want to go to the introduction so we can all say hey... my vote.. is a *** ***.... 7'3MH is what I use for froggin. but if you are going heavy stuff.. get you a 7'3 HEAVY.. or even the 7'11H.. that would also do well with walking frogs and popping frogs and the heavy stuff.. but might be too long for your taste... on sale you can get both of these for 100 dollars.. like tw black friday.. hope this helps! and again welcome to the forum.
  16. Thankfully he FINALLY got back with me.. still dont have the contract.. but atleast there is some progress made
  17. Just dont know why he would send me the contract and everything and then cut me out..
  18. How much longer would you continue to get in contact with him.. its been 11 days.. he was supposed to be sending me a t-shirt and some soft plastics that never came either.. he spoke as if this was a done deal and communicated often.. and now nothing
  19. Interesting to think about.. thanks! I pretty well have it figured out for the brush and football colors.... the swim jig may take some thinking
  20. So I have been working to help a certain company get their foot in the door of my local bait and tackle. I was asked by one of their marketing directors/part owner to do so and that if I got them in the store.. every order that store made I would get 5% in tackle at cost... After getting them in the door.. and talking with the marketing guy, he sent me a field tester agreement form with a 2 page contract and said he would like to have me on board.. etc etc.. we spoke on the phone at length and discussed on facebook what the terms would be etc.. I sent him the agreement signed and he replied.. awesome I will have this signed and returned to you after a meeting the next day.. well that was oct 31.. meaning the meeting was Nov 1... I have called the guy 3 times since then with no answer, and sent another email today.. What should I do? Do I need to call the company and asked to speak with someone regarding this.. or continue to try and speak through this marketing director/ part owner...?? I am somewhat new to the idea of sponsorship or being a field tester etc and dont know what to do... any advice?
  21. I fish in South Alabama, mostly eufaula and seminole.. I dont have many jigs and I am about to order some quality hand tied jigs from a buddy.. Say I want Ten jigs to start..I need some swimming=3, brush=4, and football=3. I am thinking black and blue, brown and purple, green and brown, and maybe PB&J or something.. if you guys were getting that breakdown of 3,4,3 .. what colors and weights would you recommend.. I mostly fish blow downs and a CRAP TON of docks. and do some night fishing.. thanks in advance
  22. it wont what? go through the guides?
  23. I have considered this, but I have Duckett Rods with microguides and worried about the line transition of a leader (if neaded) getting hung-up in the guides as this happened when i had backing on my reel and was adding main line, I actually could not bring the backing through the guides.. so that made me think a braid-leader might not pass through so easily
  24. http://www.lews.com/accessories#1 So I am thinking about getting the boat bag from Lew's and loading it with 3600s as a way to keep with the bag and do the individual storage. What do you guys think?
  25. do you just load it down with 3600?
