  1. lol I would be impulse not paying bills and impulse on the couch.. by the side of the road...
  2. With the *** sale .. the stradic FJ has been added to my price range.. I am now between the symetre saros and stradic.. not being into spinning build.. I am wondering... What is the difference in these three to help guide my decision.. I dont care about color if that helps you guys lol
  3. I have tried both now.. and must say.. I feel the Tatula was meant to be a BB1 killer.. and while they cast a mile.. for the over all line.. the Lew's is hard to beat.. palmability is a HUGE deal to me.. and since the BB1 Pro came out.. for long casting that would be my choice.. and Tourney Pro for the rest of the jobs.. . well crap a Super Duty would be a nasty Frog reel...
  4. Comparing your supreme xt and stradic ci4+ which you like better. .I do realize there is an extreme price gap Just a champ at this point.. may get a DX when I get out of school... Yeah I cant afford a stradic .. although they look and feel spectacular..
  5. Thanks everyone. I went with a dobyns rod. 703 spinning champ... and I am still not decided on the reel... thinking lews team gold speed spin... shimano symetre, saros, and pflueger MG and XT are still all on the table...
  6. The are great.. I have a great hookup ratio with jigs using the deep throat hook.. I think on footballs that it helps the trailer stand up better too.. but that may just be my mind..
  7. Went with the full handle.. just not any extra benefit of a split grip.. and dobyns cork is sexy.. so its a full all the way
  8. YES I have small hands and it didnt bother me at first .. but after 3-4 hours.. I felt my hand was drained..
  9. Lol.. she wouldnt notice EVA.. or a good rod wrap could have fixed your issue!
  10. I got an ***.. hoping it would be the start of a love story with me and 13.... I like it.. but the grip (while doesnt bother me like some others) just isnt comfy for all day use..
  11. I think if I go under 7'3 I will go split .. over I will go with full.. just heard that is the balancing point.. heck If I really like the fulls I may stay with the fulls
  12. why you say that? just wanting to know why... NO SIR but you do full grips on the 73 champ and 74 champ ex casting correct? I have heard they balance better.. I havent had access to two in the same series.. to try that out!
  13. I am the WORST person at making decisions... my own wife hates taking me to restaurants because it takes me too long to decide on food.. so I was ready to order my 3 dobyns rods.. till I got to the option of spinning reel... Full handle... Split grip.... Oh boy... what to do??? lol..
  14. That looks sharp .. I am just saying if I did like it... the switch would be pretty expensive.. and I like my stuff to match as best as possible
  15. Thats what I use too.. had backing tied on that way on a baitcaster to save line.. had a fish pull me out.. and snap.. the line went.. not from pressure.. but when it hit the guides... just always makes me nervous now..
  16. I will just see what my local guy says.. price wise.. its just going to be hard to sell off all my good lews reels.. lol
  17. looked today and not on sale yet .. hehe I went to academy, dicks and gander.. but I am also waiting on a quote from my local guy.. he is always a help.. getting 3 champs for 562 shipped to my door.. and I feel that is a great deal... I just didnt like the curado.. and I think.. if I wanted to change my whole arsenal to shimano or even diawa.. it would cost me a good 900 dollars.. including trading or selling my speed spools
  18. the Tatula R was sadly the only one I could find and it was a display But the CI4 they didnt have a display.. BUT I FOUND ONE.. and it was KILLER! I just need a cheaper option so I wonder if I would be happy with citicas and the occasional ci4.. I currently have speed spools.. and am moderately happy.. was thinking of the occasional tourney pro.. which would put me in a cheaper price range over all... unless they marked the chronarchs to 100 bucks.. I would maybe buy 3... I will admit lews speed spool feels cheaper in the hand than a chronarch but there is a HUGE price difference there..
  19. I went and played with all the shimano and daiwas that my local stores had.. I felt the type R tatula was "loose" compared to the standard tatula.. oddly the reel that blew me away and made me salivate was the chronarch ci4+ or whatever its called.. didnt like the spinning ci4 I like the stradic fj better.. I feel like the chronarch is nice.. but not as nice as the lews tp.. BUT the ci4+ imho and the core stuff beats anything lews could possibly put out... BUT THAT PRICE TAG THOUGH!!
  20. Yeah I hate it.. really dont LOVE it on my spinning. but I can manage because I can use smaller lines so its not as noticeable.. and to save my knots on jigs I normally put a bobber stop on the end.. that little hunk of rubber helps the knot in my opinion..
  21. I like leader on a spinning setup but despise it on a baitcaster.. so I am trying to stay away from that if I can..
  22. Well now guys I am going to add the daiwa lexa, and because I love Lews the Lew's Team Gold Carbon Spinning Reel... any reviews.. anyone got one?
  23. I am going to be getting a jig only combo setup (3/8-3/4 oz) and I am debating on using 17-20lb invizx fluoro or doing maybe some Suffix 832 Lo-Vis Green in 30-40lb test.. The rod will be a dobyns champ 735... I will mostly be fishing docks and brush in 1-20 feet.. BUT this rod will be my flipping rod (SEMINOLE GRASS) occasionally until I can afford a 765 champ What would you guys suggest
  24. Thats a cool way to recycle man...
  25. that being the case... why would you pay for a core100 if it had similar quality and specs as a tourney pro for 100 dollars or more less...? I am just trying to figure this out
