  1. I would like to say I fit all 13. But I think everyone can think of examples where they match all those things.
  2. As I said before, have ya'll seen some peoples yards or went house hunting in some less than savory neighborhoods? It's just second nature, people don't even think they are doing anything that could harm others or the environment.
  3. Sweat, hardwork, and a little blood at the gym
  4. As some of you may know, I'm working on creating a couple of punch/flipping set ups for my father and I this christmas. Was at cabelas last night and checked out these reels (and some rods). I've been turning into a Daiwa fan recently and I like the style and ergonomics of the Lexa. However the accurist has the flipping switch and is a bit cheaper. Looking at tackle tour, the lexa100 appears to have the stronger drag system (TT's accurist review dates back to '05 I believe) and this still appears to be the case. The flipping switch may be easier for my dad to use, but when pulling bass out of watershield I'd rather not have the drag slip. We don't have the thick gardens of Florida or Cali delta, but watershield can tangle up easier than lily pads. What are ya'lls thoughts? How much of an advantage is it to match rod and reel combos? I was previously interested in the Lexa rod for punching, and now after seeing the reel, I wonder how good the combo could be rather than mix and matching.
  5. What products should.i check out? anyone want me to check anything out for em (as in preview not buy it for you!). wanted to look at some medium heavy and heavy rods. any to look at that you all would suggest?
  6. 1. Iffy reviews about their durability 2. Walmart stocking practices I'm just saying you should thoroughly check the rod to make sure it will flex some without breaking, not just giving it a visual inspection. I wiggled a medium action one and it snapped about 4 inches from tip. Was it wright and mcgills fault, or was it thrown around and weakened? Maybe a mix of both.
  7. Has anyone tried this braid? just saw that ish monroe swears by it and its pretty new stuff. I am considering pline and samurai braids but only have experience with power pro.
  8. i broke one of them at walmart the other night...good luck
  9. thats class 201
  10. in my opinion an "athlete" is anyone capable of handling the physical requirements of multiple sports and activities.
  11. In the context of physical/athletic nutrition fishing is not a sport worth exploring
  12. Ever watch aquaman?
  13. KVD's. Tons of colors and sizes and styles. If you want to spend a little more money, then bombers.
  14. i agree with clay....we may be paying for the paint job...ill look into them regardless.
  15. yea i got it on there good now. thanks though.
  16. I mostly use braid but I have fluoro on my crankbait rod as fluoro sinks and gives me a little added forgiveness with fish. Was considering putting fluoro on my flipping setup to improve the fall. And it might just be me, but I've noticed that fluoro tends to slide through wood better...I seem to lose a lot more rigs in wood with braid than I do fluoro.
  17. Yea I figured since I was at walmart, that the product had had a rough life up to that point of me picking it up. and if someone doesn't look to make sure their rod is straight before buying it (it was obviously cockeyed) then I question whether or not they should be buying a rod. On a side note...I saw the new Abu vendettas...very nice...I have the slightly older model now and I almost want to sell it to get the new one.
  18. 7'6" rod...let's you flip further...7'11" seems too long for my personal taste. I'd probably go with xf action if you were punching, allows you to set hook harder and pull them out of the slop faster. The fast action may be a little more forgiving though. Also, a 7 to 1 reel is very important. If a bass runs at you after flipping, you need to pick the line up fast to set hook...and it helps to haul the bass out of cover and keep them on top of it.
  19. Went to wally world today and saw those yellow skeet reese rods from a mile away and decided I'd check out how they feel. Pulled a BC model down, gave it the look over and balance test. I then tested the action of the rod by twitching it like you would when walking the dog. CRACK! I inspected rod and it was bent about 3-4 guides down. I put that sucker back and quickly wrote the W&M skeet reese rod off my shortlist for flipping rods this holiday season.
  20. Couple years ago actually...never used them really before then as I was young and didn't understand how to use them. Well I was floating down the south branch of potomac when I got up to a long slow section with a large tree blown over in the middle. I cast past the tree a little ways and dragged the brown 3/8oz with craw trailer until I got beside the tree and felt resistance on the bottom (a limb? a rock?)....then I shook the rod tip back and forth to simulate a crawdad digging in...after a couple seconds of shakes...I felt tap tap tap Pulled a 3.5 pound smallie off that tree. I practically had a woody.
  21. d bomb has an oil coating..pretty sure it imparts extra.flavor on the beaver. keeps bait in mouth longer.
  22. Has anyone picked up one of these yet? I love my Daiwa Team T rod and I'm now looking for a 7'6" punch/flip rod and they have a fast action one available in a series 1 level above the Team T. I haven't seen any reviews yet and only a small blurb on tackle tour.
  23. take a 6'6" medium moderate rod and punch weeds then take a 7"11 extra heavy xtra fast and punch and come back to me. huge difference between my 7 m and 7 mh when pulling bass out of timber...HUGE difference.
  24. this is all you need
  25. daiwa team t baitcasting rod. under 100 and i love it...looks good too.
