  1. rod tip down. takes practice.
  2. When your odds of winning are 1 in over 1,000 you are going to feel like you never win or nobody ever wins. Someone wins...but you gotta put your name in the hat to have a chance.
  3. black bass. There is some pc bass sim...can't recall the name. almost full control with tournaments and tons of lakes. very hard to find it now
  4. I cut myself and feed it my blood. Must become one with the reel
  5. If I had to choose one for a sponsor, I'd go mustad. but I still use gama and owner for certain applications
  6. trying to sell stuff to finance upgrades. When I sell the microwave I'll know I've got a problem
  7. I want to get into tournaments in wv but don't have a boat. I've been asking around and thought I'd ask here too...so is anyone looking for a Co angler teammate in wv?
  8. I imagine the wobble and water displacement has just as much or more influence than rattle
  9. Lol wvians always wear wvu gear
  10. Snagging a bass is not fishing.
  11. Is 8 to 1 really that much of an advantage when punching and frogging over my 7 to 1? I want *** reel and was thinking 8 to 1. Is that speed a very specific tool or can I get by using the occasional glide bait at that speed?
  12. I don't mean to be rude...but I don't think you should be buying $180 worth of anything if you don't know much about it. Start off with different sized strike king kvd to cover different depths and sizes. This shouldn't run you more than 50 bucks. To be honest you could just buy 3 or 4 shallow running squarebills to gain confidence.
  13. I do sometimes but not loud....except the time this group of three raced in front of my dad and I to get to a sweet spot before us...they caught nothing and moved and we came in behind them and I caught a small one on the first cast. I hooped just to let em know.
  14. braid noise is music to my ears
  15. First you have to feed the spinnerbaits hook your own blood as a sacrifice. Then the fishing gods may smile upon you
  16. I love missile products and I'm pumped to see they just released the shock wave. finally something cheaper than swimsenkos to put on swimjigs
  17. I really want one for my crankbait rod, but need to sell my lews first. Can't justify 2 reel purchases so close together otherwise
  18. so conditions changed and the fish turned on and you found the right pattern. Don't know why you try to overlook your own skill and try to attribute success to luck or chance
  19. I saw a total of one mention on tackle wearhouse* about the t wing being grooved. for 100 bucks I am seriously considering the 6.3 for my crank bait rod
  20. spinning your spool voids your warranty? better not take it to the lake then! my point of view is that I've never had a cast longer than 4 seconds let alone 2 minutes. The difference is the acceleration and torque between a stock and tuned reel. A tuned reel will require less torque and effort to cast and flip. The difference in casting distance would be at best a few feet. flipping on the other hand will improve as you can get a few more feet with much less effort as its a technique that requires the spool to be fast enough to not slow down the baits momentum. As dvt stated, with less effort you can focus on accuracy (ever throw a baseball as hard as you can...very little accuracy) so in my opinion, free spool timing is just another measurement for very modest results. It's not the be all end all.
  21. catching fish from the same hole is just a feeding frenzy. Bass spit plays no role to my knowledgd
  22. Woohoo a nice bonus coming my way. may be able to push 200. any more thoughts at that price? thanks for all the replies guys
  23. I want to try revenge. love their swimjigs and read good reviews of their spinnerbaits
