  1. I love revenge swim jigs. Will buy their spinner baits in a couple weeks.
  2. Give him cheapo stuff. It teaches him that fishing is mental skill not how pretty your rod is. In the future if he likes fishing it will motivate him to earn money to buy better.
  3. Really no different from soft plastics. blacks browns greens fishing shallow you could try craw reds or green oranges for gills on beds
  4. hurts resale value which is why I do it. Also hate seeing my expensive to me combos get beat up.
  5. power pro is a good starting point. This season I'm trying smack down and fx2
  6. Are gills baitfish? I'm sure bass prefer minnows over dealing with claws and shells
  7. cool. I like swim senkos but they are expensive so I really want to give shock wave a try
  8. What other swimbaits do you use...just as a point of reference
  9. I have the 7 mh and I love it. I've used it punching and frogging
  10. medium heavy is fine...probably should be a 7 foot not 6'6" but not a big deal.
  11. missile dbomb
  12. I'll be honest. I have confidence with everything I throw. I always expect a bite. Now if you asked what lures I use least...tube and crigs. No need for them.
  13. no. hes aying use a swim bait hook instead of a bullet weight. The soft plastic flutters down horizontally rather than plunges nose first
  14. I bought 5 at Walmart the other day for like 4.50...and I thought I was stealing. I gotta check out dsg. xcs have some great color patterns
  15. dieing minnows will flutter to bottom and then jolt up. Jig head mimics this but there are better ways to do it.
  16. It'll be fine for jigs. If it were a 5 I'd say no.
  17. Other than my 1st gen vendetta rod I picked up for 30, the only thing I was interested in was the excalibur cranks. They are getting rid of a lot of gimmicky/technique specific terminal tackle.
  18. I'd wait to hear about the concept. 22+ lb drag potentially, large handle with large knobs. edit: I see you already have your hands on it
  19. hows the jackall iobee? almost bought one once
  20. haha, I do that at TW too. Gives you an idea of what you want and what you can afford
  21. whats the appeal? They look good? does that justify the risk
  22. there isnt much difference. The flipping weights are designed to slip into water more efficiently than bullet weights. Bullet weights are a bit off balance on the flip and can splash more.
