I have a pair of polarized oakley offshoots that are fantastic but $200.
The frame is large and blocks out peripheral light so on a sunny day you feel like your eyes are in a cave. Be warned, these are for large noggins and they just barely fit my oversized melon. I had a pair of bottle rockets that blocked little light and would cause headaches from being so tight. The offshoots let me fish in comfort and style all day.
It casted well before the upgrade, but haven't had it out since. I know free spool isn't the final answer but if there is something wrong I need to fix it before I'm on the water. Maybe I'll do some yard fishing with it later.
And I did remove the seals. Saw a td ito freespool for more than 15 seconds with boca abec7 on youtube.
I replaced bearings with boca orange seals in my used 103h. I noticed that freespool is 7 to 8 seconds. Didn't think to test beforehand but it seems like it shoulder be longer.
What are yall experiences? Is mine abnormal?
My 7'7" tatula should be here today.
Just need to order another reel, pliers, soft plastics, jigs, sunglass retainer, rod sock, couple crankbaits, umbrella rig, buzzbait, 20 lb line, and on and on and on.
It's getting out of hand
What's the largest reel handle yall are comfortable with for bass fishing? I want a tatula hd that has a 100mm handle but I'm considering putting the lexa 400 120mm handle on it for swimbaits and punching and taking the stock handle and putting it on my t3 1016 to take it from 80 to 100mm.
I'm not going by what the website or package says, just his interview with the bait.
I never found the newer wiggle warts to hunt much either but the two have very similar profiles.
If you want expensive flouro to sit unused in a tight coil and go to waste go for it. If you ever use the flouro near bottom of your spool then you are killing your inches per turn.
Buy cheap braid or mono and put 80 or 90 yards of flouro on top. You can't cast that far and it gives you room for quite a few lure changes. And if you overrun, you don't have to dig through as much line. Also the line will have less memory due to laying in a larger diameter.
Mike said they've been in development for a couple of years and that he wasn't going for a wiggle wart action. He wanted something with similar profile that deflects off rocks like a champ
