  1. That's not how spawning works. If the female lays her eggs she will leave. There is no attachment to mate or bed. She can spawn elsewhere and possibly multiple times. Just because there are bass on a bed doesn't mean they are protecting anything.
  2. Watching now. John crews ownership in bass should go up unfortunately if he keeps this up.
  3. Yeah no setting of hook. Keep arms locked where you were reeling and simply twist your hips to apply pressure.
  4. I always have a stopper on. Nearly pegged when punching and pitching to heavy cover. Pegged about a foot from hook otherwise. If you are unplugged and working lure over branches you can end up moving the weight up and down and not the plastic.
  5. Are soft jerkbaits like fluke and d shad too subtle for use at night?
  6. It's not about small bass out competing large bass, it's about small bass competing with small bass which leads to very few of them growing. Take the small bass out and the large bluegills. Resulting in a bunch of small bluegills to feed the growing bass population. Those small bass can't swallow big bluegill and those size gills compete with them for food. As bass grow into 3 or 4 pound range you can relax the gill harvest to give the bass bigger forage.
  7. You are paying for the name on the label mostly. Alleys tungsten and seibert are high quality AND cheap (by cheap we are talking by a couple quarters to a dollar)
  8. Inserts are to prevent line damage. Tungsten is very hard and can be abrasive. Most companies can make very smooth tungsten and remove burrs so an insert isn't necessary. The insert will reduce sensitivity which nullifies one of the key uses of tungsten.
  9. Alleys tungsten is where I get mine. But will probably buy Siebert from now on to support a sponsor.
  10. This They are fish and they are numerous. They are also stupid tough. Nobody is abusing fish for devious satisfaction. Not to mention that if it weren't for bass fisherman, the population of bass throughout the world would be much worse off.
  11. Carbontex drag and abec 7 Bocas to my daiwa tdz along with a new face plate. Huge difference and looks better.
  12. I have tried a leader in past and it's okay. But having a leader knot while pitching heavy cover doesn't inspire confidence. Just the other day I flipped a bass over a tree.
  13. Braid is good and all but my pitching rod is xfast and I've ripped the hook out of fish with that combination. Not to mention braid tends to saw into wet wood.
  14. Problem? The rods actions are clearly defined on Tw and on okuma Web page and are accurate. If you buy the all purpose caster with modfast action you should realize it's not going to be fast or xfast. No "surprise" about it. Heck, Okuma even list rod weight which is largely unheard of. These are good rods that have proven themselves to me and fit my fishing style. Guys who prefer fast or xfast actions for their jerk/topwater/spinnerbaits may want to look elsewhere though and that's perfectly fine.
  15. I haven't seen one bad review. I have seen people mention the action was slower than they realized. And Scott Martin fishes Okeechobee a lot and the Matt daddy rods do appear designed for braid due to flipping heavy cover. A lot of people like a slower rod in that scenario. In the video of Scott talking about the production of the rod, they were all designed for techniques and how he likes to fish those techniques. He fishes slower rods, so do a lot of bass resource members. Doesn't mean he uses braid for everything because he doesnt. Or we could message him, he is a member of bass resource.
  16. Scott Martin uses these rods will all sorts of flouro and copoly and doesn't have a problem. But yes these rods do accommodate braid.
  17. Tcs has smaller guides and different reel seat. Never held the c3 but it looks less comfortable. Also they come in fast actions. Not a bad rod but the tcs appears to have taken its spot.
  18. I'm half tempted to sell my new daiwa s frog rod for a tcs. Daiwa s is a $100 rod and has large guides and pretty much no handle or features. Just a large (albeit light) blank.
  19. I'm thinking of getting more. I have 7' MH apc and is great for small to medium cranks and moving single hook lures. Yes it has slow action but that doesn't mean you need braid! Some of their models are fast action but most are modfast or moderate. They look really sharp and are lightweight. They have a model for every tournament technique too. Jacob Wheeler and Scott Martin use these rods almost exclusively and have had numerous top 25 finishes since their release even a win at bassfest. The performance simply CANNOT be beat by any other rod at the $100 price range! At the msrp of $150 it has more competition but still stands it's ground.
  20. Lol, this is why threads get locked. I've used invizx and it's not that great, too much stretch and memory in my opinion. Sunline sniper is a better yet more expensive product.
  21. It's copoly and it floats
  22. A. Crews: Crank master with high finishes on Kentucky lake. 1% B. Frazier: High flying rookie from the region who is capable of fishing ledges or going shallower. 0.2% C. Coulter: Successful and experienced "rookie" from region who is good all around angler. 1% D. Kennedy: History of solid finishes at Kentucky Lake. 8% E. Shimizu: History of top 50 finishes and even a victory at upcoming venue. 5%
  23. Anyone use this stuff yet? Just came out late last year. I'm currently using pline cx 20 pound but have difficulty seeing it and think FC would be a little more sensitive and less stretch.
  24. I like hoorag. Cheap and gets job done.
