  1. I use a twistlock hook (owner beast 6/0 1/4oz) on a 5 inch swim bait, it keep the swimbait from rolling and get a decent depth...however skipping is not consistent and the screwlock style hooks 1. Catches vegetation and 2. Leads me to snagging on wood. I also have been using gamblers hollow point which allows me to slither through all types of cover but I have to recess the line tie making the owner hook useless. I need a hook that has a good wide gap for better hookups and comes in 1/8 or 1/4oz in 5/0 size. I thought about using tungsten puddy on a hook of my choosing...perhaps a jig hook?
  2. They are spawning in WV
  3. I plan on getting a fuego ct soon. It has a standard guide so it would be a good casting comparison to the tat ct.
  4. Exhaustion and/or injuries from bed guarding
  5. I won an FLW hat...maybe next time Ill cash a check
  6. Ill check but the groove in keel does give a bit like it may be cracked. Going full speed onto shore and hitting a jagged piece of riprap gravel did a lot of damage...i didnt even notice at the moment though. Groove is about 1.5 inch long maybe .5 wide and 3/8 inch deep.
  7. Feelfree rotomold
  8. Ive no other holes or damage! But yes thats on my list of things to do. The remaining layer of poly is very thin...a good submerged branch could puncture it
  9. I was thinking that melting and dripping polyethylene into the gouge would work best. Just not sure if I should heat up the groove first.
  10. Ive notice water in my dry hatch the last couple trips out and had assumed it was my fabric cooler that had a bit of a leak and a lot of ice. Today I went out without cooler and took on a pretty hefty amount of water. Flipped yak over to find a large gouge in the keel likely from running ashore over a large chunk of gravel. There is no visible hole just a 3/8 inch section of keel dug out and perhaps a fracture on either side in the groove. How do I fix this? Links/advice/first hand knowledge welcome. Would hate to buy a kit if I can buy supplies myself.
  11. Moved up to 24th with 1st 2nd and 3rd However I dont have much room for improvement so I doubt I win any of my leagues prize packages. So close.
  12. Im killing it in FLW this week. 3 in top 6 including 1 and 2. And 6 in top 30 A 53rd and a 97th. Im in 32nd place for tournament. Hopefully some of my guys outside top 10 will jump into it...but guy leading fantasy fishing has nearly 2000 points...must have picked all top 8 anglers....
  13. Anyone have experience with these yet? I have a lot of success with big ez but just got a pack of 4 gz in and they are not only longer but much thicker. How do yall fish them? Every video online has them on jigheads. I have mine paired up with a duz it (gz duzit) and will use it today in a large pond that has big bass. Probably throw to shoreline and buzz through gaps in lilypads just like a bigez...but is it more akin to a traditional swimbait aka slow roll?
  14. I wear my gaiter all year every time I fish. Keeps cold off face...rain off face...sun off face. You can get burnt easy in winter! Plus sunblock will run into eyes especially if you forget and rub your face
  15. Reel slower! Btw, okuma tcs rods have a few high level wins.
  16. Ive tried some and never got bit. I noticed you cant really use skirt without the stock hook. I dont see why it wouldn't work but I havent developed confidence yet
  17. I have the 7' apc and like it a lot. Nice cosmetics and decent sensitivity. Love the macro guides and the modfast action. Id buy more but have been trying other brands to find my favorite company/lineup
  18. I dont know how i feel about no skirt freedom chatterbaits. Have had more success with skirt
  19. Red is for finesse applications Blue is for heavy duty
  20. Im not a big guy just big head and oakley offshoots are a good size. Although after a while they can get uncomfortable sometimes.
  21. Lures are way overpriced. Ive bought tatula rod for $75 though and have bought discounted reels.
  22. Rain gear being more absorbant than a brawney papertowel.
  23. A bit more success on my 7'3" heavy xfast rod with braid. But today I rolled over some shallow rocks and saw a nice 3 or 4 pounder at the last second mouth my lure...didnt have time to set hook and never felt her weight on the line. Is this just a fact of life? Hook was exposed. Perhaps in post spawn and summer they will hit it more aggressively?
