  1. Nah, 1/4 oz is good for slow and high in the water column. That's why it is important to have a variety of swim jig weights.
  2. I would also consider the Tatula, E6X, and Zodias rods if you have not already.
  3. I am 99% sure there's no split ring on the Pop Max, but I can't confirm right now. No split ring on the Sammy either.
  4. Definitely stop in at Sportsman's Direct if you're in the area. They've got a lot of nice tackle.
  5. Boca bearings are good but not necessary. The ceramic hybrids are loud (which I like). Normally you don't need to clean new reels unless there is a problem. Flushing the stock bearings is all you need to do. I'd also suggest Carbontex drag washers because they are inexpensive but great.
  6. Yeah, it's a fun show. I think they play up the drama a lot, but it's still likable.
  7. Maybe I'm getting old, but I don't think they look bad.
  8. Checkers/Rallys used to be pretty good but the food is just way too greasy now. When the chicken fingers bleed through a cardboard box, you have a problem. I only really go to Tim Hortons for fast food. Om nom nom hot kettle chips. Everything else around here is just kinda gross. We also don't have Waffle House or Krystal's, which is a bummer. We do have Five Guys though. I go there when I want to consume 2,500 calories and be hungry afterwards.
  9. Public speaking is good. Effective communication is highly underrated. If your high school has a forensics or debate team (or club), I'd also recommend getting involved in those.
  10. Don't tie the clinch on braid. She'll slip.
  11. I like it. I get by with straight 10 lb Red Label and a simple San Diego Jam knot.
  12. Nice review Matt. It's still ugly.
  13. When bass are choking lipless cranks, it's hard not to nick something. A quick release in cold water usually stops the bleeding and they're fine.
  14. Yeah, no ones bashing. I'm sorry that the Quantum reels I've used don't live up to the standards I've set compared to other reels in the price range.
  15. Not crazy about the reels. The market is so bloated with quality reels between $100 and $200, not including secondary market options (discontinued Zillions for $180? Shwing!). I just don't think the Smokes stand up,
  16. I hate the TWS but I love the T3's. Maybe I'm just weird.
  17. Probably Megabass, Duo, and Lucky Craft, with an honorable mention for the Rapala Shallow Shad Rap.
  18. Maybe it's time to try and love Yo Zuri Hybrid again.
  19. Stretch varies from line to line. You can't lump fluoro, nylon monofilament, and copolymer in to three groups and call it a day.
  20. I don't always throw a spinnerbait, but when I do, I prefer Siebert Compact spinnerbaits.
  21. If you go to college, someday someone will pay you to make collages.
  22. The Arashi Wake is on my short list.
  23. Your favorite soft plastic paddletail. I like a Keitech SI Fat or a Missile Baits Shockwave. Use the smallest weighted swimbait hook that you can get away with. Owner Twistlock Lights are fantastic but be careful about blunting the hook points with heavy braid. White or some sort of Bluegill Flash pattern (Candygill Shockwaves kill 'em) are my preferences.
  24. I'll throw Shallow Shad Raps and a variety of lipless cranks, ranging anywhere from an original Rat-L-Trap to a Megabass Vibration X. Free tip of the day: a 1/4 oz Rat-L-Trap is a killer in shallow grass.
  25. Owner, but the price of the VMC makes me want to switch.
