  1. Well, heck, no one was in those days. Related for everyone, there's a super interesting Ted Talk by Dr. Steven Pinker called The Surprising Decline of Violence. It'll make you feel a lot better about modern society.
  2. Good example of bad history here. I'd go deeper, but I love and adhere to the forum rules. I can tell you to brush up on your history, maybe take a nice Middle Eastern History course at the local college. Knowledge is power!
  3. I'm under attack by the Kayak Monkey. Next week I'm demoing the 2015 Hobie Mirage Outback and a few different WS Rides. You guys were right. This monkey's no joke.
  4. What are you looking to replace?
  5. I'm preoccupied watching "professional" video games and listening to K-pop. Sue me.
  6. Yep. Nail on the head. There are some nice hardbait scores to be had in the Flea Market here from time to time.
  7. The I'ze spools are going to be hard to come by as well, unfortunately. It's possible that there will be an SV spool introduced for the Zillion frame, which would be a sweet addition assuming that it's not bright orange. I'd look at Zillion Type R drag stars. They're good lookin' and only about $20.
  8. The 103 is "designed" for pitching and has Magforce V. I would get the 100 for casting because I like Magforce Z. I'm sure you'd be fine with the 103 but it is "wilder" and there are better reels for the job. The X factor with the Steez frame is that you have a lot of spool options, including the popular RCS 1016. I also might wait for Daiwa's new Steez SV that should be coming at I-Cast.
  9. I have a 7' M Veracity. It's quite alright with 5" Senko-style baits and Texas rigs including the weights you stated. I would certainly agree with your idea of dropping down to 12 or even 10 lb. line, depending on the situation. A MH Abu Garcia will likely be too much rod for the lighter weights.
  10. $15 for three 1/2 oz Rat-L-Traps, where I need to replace the hooks and frown when the paint comes off after a few fish. $16.50 for three 1/2 oz Red Eye Shads, which I need to test and tune and retest. Good thing it has that seductive shimmy on the fall for when I get frustrated and throw them in the lake. Yeah. Bargains, mate.
  11. Flat Side Special with a 6.3 Zillion and 15 lb CXX or 40 lb braid. I'm tall so I don't mind walking a bait on a 7' rod.
  12. Can confirm, reporting works. Reported someone being a D and it was handled promptly. 10/10, will report again in the future.
  13. Boga Grip. Worth every penny.
  14. Sort of. However now I'm reminded that I need a Zillion 50th and TDZ 105H.
  15. Here's the thing about UPS. Delivered could mean anything from delivered to not delivered to you'll get it tomorrow to it's in the wrong state. You might get it tomorrow.
  16. My reels have gotten out of hand. They are like rabbits, I tell you. Off the top of my head: Alphas Type R Alphas SV Chronarch 51E Conquest 101 (2014) KTF tune Aldebaran Orange Amber Pixzilla PX Type R Solzilla Stradic 1000 MgFB Zillion 6.3 Zillion 6.3 PE special Zillion 7.1 Zillion TRS 100 Heeeeeeeeeeelp.
  17. Toss me in with the "swim jigs have replaced spinnerbaits" crowd. Plus if I buy nice, thin wire ones the pike and big smallmouth will ruin them.
  18. Still looking for my first this year. So far it's been all green fish.
  19. Welcome. Hope you're enjoying the rain!
  20. Siege is serious business. Performance wise, the conversation should be Elite vs. CX and Siege vs. CXX.
  21. +1 for the styling on the butt of the split grip. Me gusta.
  22. Something Zillion. I fish the 7.1:1 a lot but the PE Special has the best color scheme. Still looking for a Cabela's 50th to put on a green NRX.
  23. Alphas SV is good with braid. 40 lb is probably the highest I would run for capacity's sake.
  24. I have that Triumph. For $80, you could do much worse. I have it paired with a Stradic 1000 and 10 lb braid. The rod really loads and launches 1/4 oz lures.
