  1. Sort of personal preference. I had a 102mm and found it a bit long. It was solid for frogging though. The 94mm is my favorite length but the 90mm handles look a lot better. Any Hawgtech handles I purchase in the future will be the 90mm variety (unless something new comes out, like an 85 or 90mm swept). The cork knobs are really nice so I have not found a reason to try the Winn yet.
  2. Ripping lipless cranks out of grass seems to get me.
  3. Still not sure what prompted this in October.
  4. So what spawned this thread? It's almost October. Have you been mad since March but couldn't find the time to post?
  5. Couple things. I would have stayed out of BFS casting and probably bought an OG Zillion and '13 Met earlier. Also should have tried a TD Ito by now. Probably should have stayed out of serious mods and dress parts. Definitely should have purchased an Orochi XX sooner (and multiple. Flat Side's loney!). Not certain that I need new Conquests and an Antares but they're kinda sweet. We'll see what happens over the winter. This thread has me thinkin'.
  6. The strength of the SV 105 is versatility. 1/8 oz? Can do. 1/2 oz? That too. It'll probably work for you.
  7. Yar, Norm is the bomb * when it comes to photos. I'll say that while the Antares is not 50-sized, I have average hands and it palms comfortably. It's basically a fat Metanium.
  8. Yeah, $300 USD is a grrrreat price on an Antares HG.
  9. Mmm. Matchy matchy.
  10. Looks like you need a '12 Antares. The deep spool supposedly holds 100m (110yds) of whatever the JDM standard for 20lb is. The '13 Met deep spool is 120 yds of JDM 16 lb. I think it's worth a shot if you can find one.
  11. Zodias 7'2" H. Extremely nice rods for the price.
  12. Yumeya deep spool for the '12 antares perhaps?
  13. Pm me the pics and I'll upload them if you're having issues.
  14. Thanks Goose. What do you use your Antares '12 for?
  15. Print the postage online for USPS. ~$15 for shipping and $7 for a piece of 2" pvc and good endcaps. If you use TW tubes, cut them down to under 8'.
  16. Completed the '12 Antares, '13 Metanium, and '14 Conquest trinity. Shimano makes a nice reel. Not sure what it's going to ride yet.
  17. I think that would be more of a rack pull, but since you're the one repping over 500 lbs we'll call it whatever you like! Piggybacking with a recent somewhat inspiring fitness story: I started doing Stronglifts 5x5 in mid-August (look it up if you're curious about the barbell movements, as it's a great beginner program). Squatting around 170 for reps right now. Not a lot, but good start. I also have serious femoral vein damage in my left leg from a series of very many blood clots. Previously in pain, all the time, no matter what with limited mobility. Also tweaking my right knee constantly from favoring the other leg. After starting to squat "heavy" for a few weeks now? No pain. Zero. Zilch. Mobility's back. Fishing is awesome when you're not limping. A-Jay's right. Give weightlifting a try. Disclaimer: I am not a doctor (of medicine, anyway). Please seek medical advice before starting any serious exercise program. Don't blow out your knees, hips, or other body parts because some guy on the internet (me!) claims that squatting will cure what ails ya.
  18. I'm not worried. Megabass makes children's gear.
  19. Can I swim it? I'mma swim it.
  20. It happens. Up your pound test and hope for the best.
  21. The Zodias rods are serious business. It seems that when Shimano got rid of the lifetime warranty, they put the savings into the rods. I have the 7'2" H and it's an excellent rod for frogs but still fishes a 1/8 oz swim jig and 4" Easy Shiner. Very versatile. If the Ci4 seat works for you, then you can't go wrong.
  22. Nice shot of a couple combos at the lake today. Met HG on a Zodias H, Chronarch Ci4+ HG on an NRX 853c, and Zillion on a Flat Side Special.
  23. Just take what you like to fish.
  24. I think the Do It All Jig sounds good. You could even shorten it to Doitall Jig. I also like Go Anywhere Jig or Do Everything Jig. Of course, because I like Lord of the Rings, I also like the sound of The One Jig. One Jig to rule them all.
