  1. I have the 7’ M spinning rod. I spoke with the guy at the store before purchasing the rod, sounds like they use Loomis blanks to make the rods. They have great action and feel, I highly recommend it
  2. Only issues I would see is the weight of your baits being outside of the rods suggested ratings. You can get around that tho if you do more of a sweeping cast than try to whip it for distance overhead
  3. I’ve had both and honestly it comes down to preference. The mojo has a softer tip but as far as quality and sensitivity goes they are extremely similar
  4. If you’re open to other rods, I say get another Shimano to match. The Shimano Exage is right at the $100 dollar price range normally and gets great reviews. They are also on sale right now for $80 on TW
  5. I’d look at a falcon Bucoo, they have a really soft tip that makes it perfect for top water. Plenty of backbone too
  6. On the low end of your price range, my favs are the Fenwick Aetos, St. Croix Avid X, and the G Loomis E6X. I picked up the Fenwick recently and honestly I’m partial to it right now, but I don’t think you can go wrong with any of these
  7. I’m really enjoying mine so far as well. I still have plenty of line on the spool to cast with even with the shallow spool. From my experience, the MSRP was pretty spot on as far as placement in Daiwa’s line up. It’s been a great reel so far and it feels like one that’s going to last. It’s definitely high quality
  8. I have the previous BuCoo rod but I imagine they are pretty similar. I have the 7’ MH MF and it makes a great spinnerbait rod and all purpose rod. I personally think they don’t get enough hype at that price point
  9. That would make a great all around spinning rod, you’d be able to do all of your spinning applications with that rod
  10. I’m quickly becoming a fan of Winn grips. Really like the feel and they look pretty sweet on a lot of rods
  11. Just came in the mail today. This is my first JDM reel that I’ve owned (got it of TW, they had it labeled as JDM). Daiwa EM-MS2506H
  12. Well these don’t appear to be on TW anymore but I’ll still give a review. It ‘s a normal 2500 size for Daiwa, so it is a standard size reel for bass. What I do like about it though is that it has a shallow spool similar to a lot of the newer finesse baitcast reels. Even though that won’t help with casting distance on a spinning reel, I’m happy I don’t have to spool as much line. It it feels incredibly smooth and honestly it would be worth every bit of the original retail price IMO. I’m excited to get this reel out on the water this coming weekend.
  13. Personally I’d go with a higher test brace. I use 30 on some of my bait fast rods but that’s as low as I go. You may like the feel of the 15# but thats my recommendation.
  14. I’m personally a Suffix and PP fan. I hear good things about smackdown though, can’t go wrong there
  15. I have one of the previous generation Sahara (2500 FE) and it has held up great, still smooth. It’ll be one that stays in my arsenal until it goes out, whenever that is. As far as rod recommendations go, I would check out the Fenwick HMX. It’s a great rod at $80. Honestly speaking, if you open up your price range for the rod to $100, you get a lot more options of rods. You can get a nice rod for $80 though
  16. The spool is shallow, but I’m hoping the overall size of the reel is the same as their other lines. Having to spook up less line won’t bother me, but if the reel is entirely undersized I may look for other options. Either way I’ll update everyone once it’s in on Wednesday in case anyone else is looking at them on Tackle Warehouse
  17. I’m picking one of these up from the Classic Sale at TW, I was just curious if anyone has any experience with these?
  18. My favs are my gen 3 Revo SXs and my Lew’s Tournament Lite Speed Spool. I just picked up a Daiwa Tatula SV TW so that could change soon though.......
  19. As far as the Mojo v. Avid X argument, I own both rods and sensitivity is not the same. I’m not saying the mojo is a bad rod, but they must be made differently. As as far as my vote goes, I’ll say Avid X or E6x
  20. I just picked up the Daiwa Tatula SV after comparing ones in it’s price range. It gets my vote
  21. Now that’s tough. I don’t think you can go wrong either way. Honestly if it were me, I’d pick based on which one has a rod that in the size, power, action, etc that you are looking for. You won’t be disappointed with either rod
  22. I would think it would balance just fine. I placed one of my Revo SX ( 3rd gen) on and it balanced well, so you should be good
  23. It’s really nice, not tip heavy in the slightest. I have mine paired with a Revo ALX and it balances great even with that light of a reel. From handling the longer rods in store it seemed they were balanced as well. With out the reel on, they seem to balance right between the reel seat and the Powell label
  24. I’m a really big fan. I have a 6’8 MH and love it, it’s a great quality rod with good sensitivity. I held the larger size rods as well from them and they were all light
  25. I’m a really big fan of the last gen Tatula rod, I would assume the new rod performs similarly. Not to throw more rods into the mix, but if you get a chance to hold a Powell endurance or one of the new Ike rods I think you’d be pleased
