Last night I was fishing a place called the Allenton boat ramp with friends. Around 10pm guy rolls in with a jet ski and asks us to help him back it up. After getting it in the water he asked how often police patrol the area. Well he gets on the jet ski and tries to start it. The thing wouldn't start. He says he really needs it to start since his buddy is having boat troubles and he needs to jump the boat for him. He finally gets the thing going, turns around, proceeds maybe 50 feet, and it dies. Gets it started again, goes a little further, and it dies. He couldn't get it to start again. He started floating down the river. He managed to get it going again and took off. He said it would take 15 minutes to get there and some time there, and 15 minutes back. 2 hours later he still isn't back. Police called, they didn't know where the Allenton Boat ramp was!!! Its a conservation ground how do they not know where it is!!! 20 minutes later a county cop finds us. We started to hear the guy yell. His jet ski drug bottom, and was stuck. He was towing his friends jet ski. The helicopter was called in, 2 ambulances, 2 fire trucks, a grand total of 4 police cars, and 3 fire boats were called in. The one guy actually swam up the river 200 yards to the ramp! His friend was apparently "stuck" somehow, and couldn't move. He was in the middle of the river and couldn't swim to shore. We never did find out what was preventing him from swimming. It was really odd. Guy asks how often police patrol the area, has a box of .40 s&w hollow points, empty beer cans, and his car smelt of illegal substances. Everybody went home, and the 2 jet ski guys said they were going back to the river around 6 today to try and get their jet skis...
