So I was fishing my normal spot yesterday with a 7 inch senko and was getting no bites, went at it with 2 different colored senkos and some other fake crawlers and got nothing. Moved to a different spot and put a senko back on texas rigged and tried a different method. Instead of pulling the rod tip up to move it and letting it sink, I would just jerk the reel.
Example:
Reel (quick) half a rotation, stop, half a rotation, stop, half a rotation, stop. I got hits on it, but couldn't land anything as they were small or i was pulling it out of their mouths, here's what happened.
I was 3 feet from the shore and just pulling my senko out of the water to re cast, out of no where this absolute HOG attempts to grab my lure. He comes out of the water and lands back in sideways, this was the biggest bass i've ever seen in person. Literally thought about suicide for not leaving my senko in the water for 2 more seconds...
Anyway, just wanted to share with ya'll that new method. It seemed to work for getting bites/interest in it when the usual method doesn't work. Anyone else work it like this before?
