Thought nothing but highly about my state's DNR until my buddy explained what happened to him yesterday. He was fishing for bass in an area park (highly fished park) when the DNR showed up and asked him for his license. He went to his truck about 50 feet away and presented the officer with his fishing license and his drivers license. The DNR officer then gave him a ticket for "Fishing without a license on your person." Are you kidding me? Is the DNR really hurting this badly for money? $175 dollar fine and a misdemeanor. DNR officer told him he's cutting him a break because he could take his gear too. Buddy plans on going to court to fight this, and hope the judge dismisses this ludicris ticket. I get it, you're suppossed to have it on you but 50 ft away in your truck? Give me a break.

I'm honestly not sure of the exact model. The lettering on the pole is pretty worn off but i'll see if I can find it the next time I go out.

I'm looking for a new rod, and really like the action my current one gives me. It's a shakespear medium action rod that's 5'6" Have never had an issue with it bringing in big fish, and I enjoy shorter rods over longer ones. Any suggestions on a rod that would be similar and not cost me an arm and a leg?

Fishing in the grand river using the new spinnerbaits I picked up and caught a nice 15 incher as soon as I got out there. Was fishing by a huge down tree and a bank with a drop off in front of it and a small creek that leaks into the river right by the huge log. I'm fishing about 20 feet away from the creek log but putting my casts into that area, I see this HUGE bass jump right by the mouth of the creek under the Log. So I slowly walk over there and throw my spinnerbait under the log. BOOM, as soon as it hit the water, This is only about 5 feet in front of me. Well I don't let this bass take line so I can get him out into open water and I struggle to do so. However I get him into open water and this bass is freely taking line without even trying, and my drag is pretty tight. I eventually get a handle on the fish and starting bringing him in, the power of this bass is incredible. I get him close and he jumps for the first time, and POP goes my spin bait. I've never said so many curse words in a row in my life. This was about a 5 minute battle with a Largemouth bass (saw him clearly twice) that would have been the biggest bass i've ever caught, im confident in that. I quit after that, just disgusted. Don't know what I have to do. Pretty sure I had him looked loosely and the hook tore through his lip or something..but man...

Hey guys, These are the new spinnerbaits I picked up today on clearance. Any tips for these in general? Tips to keep them from getting snagged? (the sucky part is the only retreive method that seems to work is bouncing it up and down on the bottom) Also, i know this may be stupid but how do I tie the ones on that don't have a full circle on them? Like the two in the top of the pic?

Areas I fish are rocky/weedy bottoms. Also, what is a lure retriever and how do i get one?

If it's a man-made pond maybe they didn't stock it with bass?

I have an app on my windows phone called "Time To Fish." It shows me the best days/specific times to fish according to the lunar cycle and it's usually pretty spot on.

I guess the question would be how to make it so I can avoid snags...Got my best spinnerbait snagged today and lost it. Only thing I got a hit on this morning too..

I use 15lb mono with a 6 foot rod and have never had an issue with a bass. Now pike are different stories..d**n varmons.

DROUGHT OVER BOYS. ABOUT d**n TIME. Only 12 inches but it felt d**n GOOD to catch a bass after not catching one for almost a month. Hit it on a white spinner bait bouncing it up and down on the bottom. Would figure 3 casts later I lost it to a d**n snag... Anyway, about d**n TIME.

Fishing from shore in multiple different locations. I have had success early in the season with softbaits (Senkos, tailed crawlers (Big and small), fake lizards, rubber baitfish, ect), Rapalas, and jigs). Had a lot of success with these early in the season as I stated earlier but now they wont touch them. As for top waters/spin baits, i've never had luck with them in my fishing career.

Has anyone ever had success using a 7 inch senko on a constant slow retreive T-rigged to mimic a bait fish? I LOVE the way it swims, but didn't get any bites trying it this morning. I had it T-rigged weightless and reeled very slowly.

Have been skunked each and every time i've gone out for 3 weeks straight. Not one f'in fish. Have tried the same methods I caught many bass on in the spring/early summer. Any advice? Getting really frustrated and annoyed. Thanks

What's the point of bringing more than one rod? I always bring all my tackle boxes, but only 1 rod.

I've never had any luck with them.

pretty much, but ive never had a big weed or anything on it.

I use texas rigs all the time and have NEVER had a weed issue.
