  1. I got my talon on amazon and love it.
  2. No doubt you'll enjoy it! Let me recommend the quick disconnect, sold by minn kota. If your going to anchor in a spot for an extended amount of time, and want to save battery juice, you can disconnect the cables by unscrewing them. Super easy to install and worth the money. Let me know if you'd like to see pics of mine!
  3. My recommendation... I would go for a decent aluminum boat like a Tracker for your FIRST boat. Reason being, I have made many entry level boater mistakes with my Tracker 175 that I would not want to make with an expensive fiberglass boat! Things like putting it on its trailer and going a bit too far and breaking off the transducer for example! Just my opinion! Also, with a big engine like the ones on Triton's and Ranger's come big fuel costs!
  4. Could you post some pics of it on your Tracker trailer? I have a 175 and would like to look into these. Thanks!

  6. Thanks!
  7. These are all great ideas, thanks fellas!
  8. Gents, Thanks for the input! Unfortunately I don't have a jackplate and mounting that twist step wouldn't work for me, which is too bad because it looks like a good little boarding ladder. The windline ladders may be more my style, but for $120... geez! I appreciate the help fellas!
  9. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a ladder that works with bass boats. There are a few spots that I can park, jump into the river and swim around a bit. Getting back into the boat is a bit of a challenge. Any recommendations?! Here's what i'd be putting the ladder on:

  12. Also, consider giving Humminbird a call if you have any questions. They've always been great to me over the phone with customer service.
  13. I'd recommend the talon, bud. Check my profile pics for how mine looks on my tracker 175. No extra battery, hydraulic pumps, etc. I added a quick disconnect from minn kota for when I'm sitting around, anchored down and don't want to use an battery power the whole time.
  14. Have you consider a tracker 175? I bought a 2012 175 last year and like it. It's a great entry level boat for sure. I've made some mistakes with it, like ripping a transducer off loading it on the trailer, hitting sumps, etc. I could not imagine doing that with an expensive triton or ranger fiberglass boat! Although very nice, I'm glad I didn't invest in one for my first boat. Here's a pic of mine before I put a talon on it.
