  1. I need more advice. First bass boat. It's at the detailers until Monday. I might have to clean the carbs and gas tank. Seller told me it might have bad gas in it. One year old gas. LOL Hope it's only one year old How should I start the boat? Muffs and water on If the gas looks ok and not separted, should I just primer bulb the gas and oil and crank the engine? I'm just a tad nervous about starting it without having known good premix going into the engine. Is this VRO system generaly safe to start after sitting a year? I have a pic I'll look up how to post it. Dang not a very good pic. I don't have a good one right now LOL
  2. Is it ok to run this engine with the water muffs on? Should water be coming out tell tale before I fire it up? I just got this boat and want to fire it before going to the lake if possible. Shipped it here from STL so I haven't seen it run. I will post some pics of the boat once I get it back from the detailer.
  3. Hey guys, need some info about titling a boat motor in MO. I've tried calling the DMV's and waited on hold forever. The lines have been too long to wait. Looking at a boat with no title for the motor. Can I still title it with a good bill of sale? Is there anything else that needs to be done? Thanks
  4. Nice. That info on the worm binder is gonna be helpful. Carabiner is gonna work. Gonna throw my back out if I try to lug too much crap around.
  5. Been thinking about a worm binder. Really trying to keep my gear easy to transport so need to look and see if one will fit in the bag pouch or lanyard it to the bag etc.
  6. Scored a near new BPS 5 box bag today at a garage sale for $1. Missed out on 20 reels and poles the guy said he had sold. My old bag holds 4 boxes. Got them all stuffed and was pretty excited when I put them into this bag and can tell it's made for 5. So which box should I get? I've seen boxes made for crankbaits or spinners. I've got more lures like cranks, spinners, buzz/chatter baits that I'd like to carry with me. What type of boxes you guys normally run? Brands etc. Gonna hit Bass Pro soon. Kinda fun to see what others are doing.
  7. Hoping this rain fires up the bite on Jacomo. Going there tomo afternoon. I tried to go last night and my trailer jack came apart. Getting one of the double wheeled jacks.
  8. Good info, thanks alot. I'm with you all the way. The reverse light circuit is puny. I like 14 awg for any light and will use an inline fuse and a relay. Truck I saw had a light inside each end of the bumper pointed down to the ground. I think that will work best. Limit the light from interferring with night vision as I pull the boat on the trailer and be bright enough for loading the truck bed. I always end up with a bunch of stuff. Batteries to charge, cooler, fishing poles, TM, tackle bag and towel duffle bag and more LOL. We like to fish, swim, BBQ and festivities on the boat and always come off the lake after dark. Really getting back into the happy boating summer after missing last season. Pontoons are great. I still want a bass boat though. One is coming for sure.
  9. Nice guys, thanks for the info. That's the way I'm going to go. Really like this trolling motor and want to use products that will last years. Boat has been a money pit and gotta get my moneys worth. LOL Gonna get on the water tomo and hope todays rains help the bite.
  10. hehe don't worry about me. I will just wire up the circuit for the lights. I've already re wired every major circuit on my old 89 K2500. Been planning on running rear/trailer lights ground back to the batt next and just gonna do both circuits at once.
  11. Hey guys, I need a quick connector for the 8 gauge wires off my terrova with my new quickmount. Walmart has a 10 gauge connector. Bass pro had plug and receptacles. This is for my pontoon and I'd prefer a good quick connecter set. Found this one on ebay. Anyone using it? http://www.ebay.com/itm/161059200825?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Or this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/TRAC-Trolling-Motor-Connector-Kit-8-gauge-NEW-T10136-/161049429137?pt=Boat_Parts_Accessories_Gear&hash=item257f4b4491&vxp=mtr Thanks alot
  12. Thanks guys. That's a good ideal greyleg. I'm going to play around with the reverse lights and look at the light options at the auto parts store. Been cranking out the projects today. Hoping to have some time this coming week.
  13. Thanks Buckmaxx, did you point them at the ground? Got any pics? Thanks again
  14. Seen a truck a couple weeks ago with two white lights under the rear of the cargo box pointed down towards the ground. Figured they must be for using at the boat ramp. Anyone else tried this? It's really poorly lit at the local ramps around here. I always prefer to take my toon out in the evenings and come in after dark.
  15. Sup guys. I'm pretty much stuck fishing Jacomo the rest of the year with my pontoon. My trailer needs a better axle before I can get it on the highway. Anyone know how the Jacomo Monday tourny went last night? I am hoping there's a bite. I went fishing Friday night and it was sweltering hot and the fish were not active until we got off the lake about 11pm.
  16. Bought that one. Should have it mounted later this week. Going to try and fish two nights without working on the boat. Starter went out on me Wed night when I had my uncle out there and loaded up. Missed a really good night of fishing from the tourny weigh in I was around to watch.
  17. small section below the boat
  18. Thanks for the info guys. Really appreciate it. I ended up buying a terrova for the pontoon. Just had it out for testing last night and it did great. Getting back on the water tomorrow evening.
  19. That sounds good. I could use the extra sliding ability. My TM is right in the way of the dock and can't park on that side the way it's setup now. I think I'm going to go with the cheap one for now though. Just got done dropping big money on the setup and getting married this weekend. Thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate it.
  20. Looked on ebay and there's two different ones. Which one do you guys prefer? http://www.ebay.com/itm/MinnKota-MKA-16-02-Aluminum-Quick-Release-Bracket-Mounts-Terrova-and-PD-Motors-/360647320554?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53f84163ea This one has more features http://www.ebay.com/itm/MinnKota-MKA-32-Quickrelease-Trolling-Motor-Mount-with-Cover-Terrova-and-PD-/230901524263?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35c2cda727 I'm looking to just get the TM off the boat and in the truck. Also I installed the terrova with an isolator bolt kit. Seemed to work good last night. I am wondering if many folks who install these 80lb TM's on pontoon bows eventually brace the mounting area of the bow. My wood is pretty dried out up there. Really liked the TM.
  21. That 12" one is on CL here in KC for $150, guy said he'd take $125. I picked up another TM, though. Thanks alot
  22. Nothing fishy here. Best you worry about your own deals. Just because someone got a good deal doesn't mean it's stolen and it's certainly not your place to allude that it could be. This seller is a local with good knowledge of local lakes. And he had this well listed for two weeks. If someone had one stolen, it would have taken two minutes to find this one online. He told me he just upgraded. Very common to hear of people upgrading TM's. Especially lately it seems with all the new gadgets available.
  23. Gave $450 delivered for this Terrova 60" shaft from a local off CL. Pumped. Even has an extra transducer. He said he had a buyer lined up for tomorrow evening for $400. So I emailed him $450 delivered and that got it. Checkout my $80 Fishmark 320 that came today in the mail. Seems a little akward next to the TM. Might have to upgrade sooner than I thought. Gonna install this weekend. This 2awg might be too heavy LOL.
