  1. If some one is with along with me ,I tell them I just lost a state record. Other times its "cheeeeese and crackers Or maybe ohhh tick bubbles I used to slap my rod on the water,I stopped doing that.
  2. Great catch,amazing that they all hang around the same structure C22
  3. I use med heavy bass tackle spin reel/w20# braid & 20# leader.I`m talking pups up to 30". If you go after the big girls ,of course you must up grade the size of your rigs. C22
  4. How about this hybrid
  5. Agree
  6. If I had known I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself. Just sign on the dotted line kid Old fishermen never die,they just smell that way. You will never see Brinks truck following a hearse I got a hot tip for ya
  7. Reds are super fun ,but not the most difficult to catch imo. My best method is to touch bottom lift and stroke about two feet enough to make those paddle tails shake a bit,touch or get close to bottom again,ect Some time dragging will work.Sometime a steady retrieve will interest them. I`ll caught them with spinner baits when they are tailing. Check some Utube vids for more ideas. C22
  8. Duke smashed them I see Duke /Kentucky final BTW anyone know what happened to NCST
  9. Any adult that says they have not suffered depression "to some degree" probably will not admit it to anyone or them selves. Its good to talk to your friend about it
  10. DO NOT GET INTO A VARIABLE FLOATING LOAN,your rates will only go up. Early on in a loan the interest is very high with principles very low.Gang up the principle payments as much as possible to cut years off the loan and to save a heap of cash. May sure your contract allows forward payments as such. Meet the neighbors before you buy. Make sure theyr`e not anti fishing,ect,or have barky dogs. Get a reliable home inspector researched and approved by yourself. Get a thorough test of any septic systems Get the water tested Stay away from older houses with underground oil tanks and lead paint Terms can be negotiable with the seller for things you may want or not want.Don`t be shy about asking. You have the checkbook. You are the lead dog. Look at adjacent noise and odor possibilities [airports,farms,heavy industry,prison] And a biggie for me,make sure you have a backyard area to take a pee without the neighbors calling the cops Oh almost forgot,if something breaks,falls down,clogs up or needs repair,its on you Best of luck and hope this helps C22 BTW I`ve had my own homes for over 45 yrs now and would not have it any other way.
  11. Its certainly non of my business living 2 days away from WI,but I would welcome the chance to get in some excellent cold water c/r. Bass have an excellent survival rate then. Along with others ,I would nix the CDR option as well as live bait or at least require circle hooks for it. When seasons overlap, problems arise ,I know that. The negative side that I experienced in Pa was when they approved preseason basin,it attracted hoards to the Susquehanna River and was indeed a boon for all who had something to sell.Guide services haunted the area from ice out to June. Overall it was negative thing for me,so I see why so many oppose it. C22
  12. I purchased a rig with a Honda 50 with about 2" of the skeg missing. An in water test drive revealed no problems. I put a Skeg Gard on in about 10 minutes and never looked back.Most of that time was getting tools ready. 8 yrs later still good http://skeggard.com/ Very happy with it. In fact I would put one on a new outfit if it didn`t affect the warranty. C22
  13. Crappie magnets 65 or 78 LC`s 1/16 oz hand tie hair jigs
  14. I like 3" paddle tails on a 1/4 or 5/16 jig head. Chartreuse glitter ,rootbeer/wh tail, pearl/char tail are a few favs. Gulp baits are good too. C22
  15. Just $19.15 + shipping and handling We`re number One Guaranteed for life. #2 first place loser I just lost a hog
  16. I can hear them now ==oink,oink Great catch
  17. I hear ya about the wind. Nice catch.I have seen many times when the wind would push bait into coves or against the shoreline. My favorite small pond does best with a north wind howling at speeds you mentioned. The good thing is ,no one else ventures out,so its mine ===all mine
  18. John Mayer====Wildfire https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lK2kKg4ao2I
  19. I don`t choke easily but this one================= https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zf9zrrPWEE
  20. Guaranteed for life just three easy payments
  21. I used to be schizophrenic, but we`re OK now I respect your opinion, I just don`t want to hear it If your not the lead dog, the view never changes All I want is a little more than I`ll ever get Gun control means using both hands If I`d shot her when I wanted to , I`d be out by now If all else fails , lower your standards [all are stickers on my mc helmet]
  22. I have caught smallies with ice flowing in the river.Eddies and current breaks with water at least 3' deep was the key. Some of my best days were in 36/37 deg water. Black hair jigs 1/16 or 1/8 oz,no trailer did best. I think they represented helgramites and crawdads to the fish.About 42 deg they would venture into current areas and at 45 deg ,it was game on. No doubt conditions may vary from moving water to lakes. Hope this helps
  23. I usually clean them as per this vid that shows bluegills. Sometime I will head,gut & scale them. Either way they normally get pan fried in butter. Or battered and deep fried. Very tasty critters. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzsmNUvY1eU The wind will not let up so I can get on the river for the whites.
  24. The snow was flurrying,but the fish weren`t scurrying.Tough start with a coupla yellows on a C Brewer 2" grub. Back into the shallow water with nada. So I thought maybe,yes,try a nose hooked super fluke in 48deg water? Pickerel came on 3 consecutive casts also with a bite off. Nothing would consider a hard jerk. Guess they`re tired of looking at it Total 6 pickerel 2 yellows 1--13" crappie LMB = lock jaw 2 days now. C22
