  1. Iv`e been doing the cross over thing for 25 yrs + Fresh for salt and vs versa. If it has the right size and movement it does not matter what label is on it. C22
  2. congrads congrats
  3. Nice trip, congrads. I truly wish I could take the heat /humidity to spend time down there. C22
  4. I always use a leader of various sizes depending, but seldom use wire. When I do they are Eagle Claw prefabed about 6" long that come with a j hook.Remove the hook and make use of the loops on each end. Catch 22
  5. Bass with only one eye are more likely to be" blind sided" I avoid lures with three trebs and /or will remove one of them.It is easier on me too. C22
  6. Not so much misspelled but misused Then and than farther and further
  7. Darn terrorist frogs. Long ago my bride and I were camping on a river. We bedded down close to the water to enjoy the stars and serenity. She was laying on my arm when suddenly a frog jumped and hit me square on the lips. It didn`t stay long as I came up swinging. The bull frogs beat me one nite while camping. They were so noisy I got out of the tent to throw rocks at them. Meanwhile a spider gained entrance while I was out and managed to drop on my bare back. Ggrr. The frogs would not quit so I put some ear plugs in and just barely managed to get some sleep. They were still croaking when I left in the morning. C22
  8. Tell me more about Back Room Co if you would. Maybe pm me, thanks. I have messed up many smallie lips with a 3" avocado/red speck paddle tail when the water is clear. I like the black or smoke 3" sting ray grubs on a 1/4 head too. C22
  9. Iv`e never felt imminent danger around other people ,but when approached by strangers a few times I got my knife out to "clean my finger nails" Don`t be shy about letting others know you can defend yourself. When people walk up behind me without notification,I hate that. I will always greet people ,shuffle my feet or cough to make them aware of me. Is 39 young ===uummm ==yep Some road warriors are lucky I don`t ccw C22
  10. Thanks,I`m off to see the wizard for about a week.
  11. Nice catch and story. Although I don`t pound the sand very much ,I agree there is something special about landing fish in the surf. I never caught a Jack but it sounds like I should try.Do they eat sand fleas [mole crabs]. That would be my guess why they are so shallow. Also ,is that an atv in the pic. C22
  12. That would be the carnage on anything the bluefish can bite and swallow. The carnage on the bluefish by anglers The carnage on my bucktails and my sore hands. I sensed the slowing of the blue bite a few days ago,but its on again. I usually don`t keep but a few ,but today 5 came home. My wife made some fishcakes of them last week and they were real tasty. Fresh strips of blue on a light bucktail makes an excellent flounder bait too. Anymore than a day old it gets to soft. C22
  13. Well this may sound a little crazy but it works. Put about two dozen or maybe even 24 pieces of styrofoam about the size a sugar cubes in the trap. That's all. The bubbles released seem to be the attractant. Change them out after 2 or 3 uses. Creeks would be my choice. All the above mentioned food will work. C22
  14. A favorite time for stripers around here is when the tide comes full about 1 to 2 hrs after sunset. The flounder bite seems to be best on the crown of the high tide. That is about 1 hr before thru 1 hr after high tide. To answer the OP question, imo yes the full moon seems to have a negative effect on DAYTIME fishing in salt water. At night it seems to increase the catching. Being that there are no absolutes in fishing, all I said here is subject to change. C22
  15. 14 yrs now on ebay with only one neg for me from some fool that didn`t like the price that a bag of worms. sold for.One of the best things ebay did was to stop the sellers feedback. Things got much better after that.Over all I have done well on ebay mostly as a buyer C22
  16. The blue fishing has been insane on the coast this year. starting to slow now, maybe the stripers will feel safe enough to come in now. BTW nite is the best time for strippers, just be careful what you take home. Sorry could not resist. C22
  17. First off "I hate you====I hate you" You make the rest of us look incompetent================OK,OK just kidding Yes I have had similar days =====but it was before the internet that Al Gore invented======btw I hate him too :eyebrows: WTG on the 7`s
  18. I`m sorry to hear about that. Be strong for your brother and family. C22
  19. I built and owned a two acre pond yrs ago.I can tell you with certainty that fish become acclimated to lures and line.I used to feed the bass minnows. They would gobble them up,until I put a small bare hook w/minnow with line on it. No dice. Bluegills ==ehh not that smart
  20. here http://www.nyfishfinder.com/burbot-107-fish.html
  21. Here is an interesting read about them. It seems to indicate that they eat a variety of food so a drop shot might be possible. Good luck
  22. My guess would be New Jersey
  23. The incident made the local news and papers. The boater was charged with 2 counts felony and reckless endangerment on federal property. I got cut off by a boat today as did some others. A coupla hand signals were exchanged that really didn`t mean "hi hows the family" C22
  24. My condolences Snook and all concerned. Local report says the train was traveling 100 mph===twice the safe speed for that turn. C22
  25. Unless they are making money from them.
