Hey folks, looking for a new rod. All I want to know is, are the guides on the (casting) champion extreme normal size? I will be using braid as my main line with a fluocarbon leader. I do NOT want micro guides. Wanted to make sure before I purchase. Thanks in advance!
I have both the crucial and the avid x. I like the exposed blank on the crucial but the avid x just has a better blank feel. More sensitive. But be aware the avid has micro guides. No comment on the zodias since I don't own one. Good luck with your choice
I used to use the Alberto knot. Since trying the FG knot, I really like it. The small diameter is great and the knot is strong. Little tricky to tie, but nothing a little practice can't take care of.
So I am looking for a new rod. This rod will be a MH, fast or Extra fast. Been considering a few rods in the $200 range. G-Loomis E6x, Powell 3D Max, St.Croix Avid X. What is your choice??? Thanks!!!
Get yourself an anchor man! Also use some bigger baits like other members have mentioned. I've caught some of my best fish on big soft plastics like 8 inch plastic lizards, and full size brush hogs. Put those big soft plastics in the pads!!!
I don't personally fish Webster lake. The lake is to big for me. I only own a small john boat with a trolling motor. I hear there is good fishing there tho. I just stick to my handful of ponds that I know hold fish that get up to the 8lb range. Other than that I take a few trips to the Quabbin reservoir for some smallie action!
