  1. 45 acp is my favorite caliber. I like to shoot a lot of matches, so I have tons of experience shooting various caliber pistols. The recoil on a 45 is different then a nine. Since its a low pressure round that shoots a heavy bullet it tends to push more when compared to the snappy recoil of a 9. A 40 is even more snappier. Personally, I can stay on target faster with a 45, but that my opinion. But remember, felt recoil is a perceived thing. What's good for me may be to much for a other
  2. Yes it's is, don't know why a said 6'9"
  3. Just picked one up yesterday
  4. I change when I'm not catching anything and loose confidence
  5. Black/ blue jig, or any jerk bait. Currently using zoom super fluke and sluggo
  6. I find that using a vest is the best way to go. Just pack everything you wanna use that day and go get em. I find lets bulky then a back pack, and of course easier to haul around then a tackle box
  7. I don't see a particular model number, if that's what your asking. I do know its the 6'9" jig/worm rod
  8. It actually didn't come as a combo. Dicks wasn't offering anything I wanted to buy, as far as a combo goes, so I bought them separately. I will let you know how it does though. I bought it for one thing in mind. Pitches jigs, worms, etc..Mainly through weeds, grass, heavy cover and such. I did take it out in the yard and practice some casts. All I gotta say is the engineering and technology has gone a long way as far as gear goes. Big difference since The last tim i picked up a baitcaster 20 years ago
  9. Went to the local dicks sporting goods today with the intention on picking up a new spinning rod, and came home with a whole new set up! Abu Garcia orra ax and a G-lot is GL2 rod. Can't wait to get out on the lake this weekend. My bait casting skills may be a little rusty though. Haven't used one since I was a kid. New state record...here I come!!! Haha
  10. Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this, but I didn't know where else to put it. Was at the lake today after work trying out the senko worm for the first time (was shut out), and left around 9:30. It was dark and I was walking back to my car, and noticed there was a fish it the weeds by the bank that looked like it had almost beached itself. It was kinda flopping and splashing around but didn't really seem like it was really trying to get back to deeper water. It was probably in 6 inches of water gives or take, so I didn't see any fins. Plus it was dark and I had no flashlight. Phone was dead too, so needless to say I didn't get a good look at it. Any idea what species it might of been? I was thinking maybe a cat or a carp. Don't know why it was just chilling there unless it was dying
  11. Was thinking, I could also use the money to buy a new baitcasting combo. Dont know what kind of quality is out there for that kind of price tho. Any thoughts?
  12. I realize there might not be such a thing as a "do all" rig, but the extra money I do have is being focused on a new optic for a Win 94 I just got. Gotta be ready by deer season. Anyways, I am looking for a new rod. I figured I can scrape enough pennies together for that. I currently use a Pfluger medium action spinning reel with a ugly stick light rod, 6ft medium action. I love the reel put I need a rod thats more stiff. Like I said before, this set up will be likely the only rig a use for at least the rest of the summer, so i need some suggestions on what you guys have experience with. I really havent been paying attention to the latest and greatest gear, so any help would be appreciated. I'd like something 6'6'' to 7 foot in medium or medium/heavy action. My budget tops out at $100, but any money saved would more money towards my rifle. I use soft plastic worms, lizards, jerks baits most of the time. I like to fish Jigs too. Ocasionally i'll throw a buzz bait or a spinner out from time to time.
  13. What's going on fellas...brand new to the forum. I live in New Market and work in Germantown. Do most of fishing at Lake Linganore and the surrounding lakes, and ponds.
