I just bought a couple of packs of Swimsenkos. 1-4" and 1-5", so far I like the 5" better. I think the longer tail has better action. I haven't caught a fish with one yet but, I've only had a short time to fish them so far.
It's a lamprey and it's definitely NOT a protected species around here (MI). We have special dams set up with a catch basin to catch and kill these things! They're an invasive species. Next time you see one kill it!
For two reason, 1. It hinders the action of the bait and 2. when casting with the snap on it I have found that the bait would foul with the line getting caught up in the hooks. YMMV
1/2 oz. Terminator Chrt/Wht or Chrt/Blue/Wht double willow leaf, gold blades. Usually no trailer. If I do use a trailer I'll use either a white split tail or a 4" white curly tail grub.
I use both the cross lock snaps or the Norman speed clips EXCEPT on my lipless cranks. I tie directly to the split ring on those. I find the cross lock snaps work better on the smaller lighter baits such as Rapalas and the speed clips work best on larger and heavier baits.
$12 lures? I was just looking at TW's crank bait selection and I'm seeing $20+ baits! I'm sorry I can't see spending $20+ on any bait. I don't care who endorses it or designs it!
