  1. With the type of cover that I fish, I've always used XT. As far as line memory, that pretty much goes away after a couple of casts. It's never been a problem for me. I use XT on both my baitcasters and spinning reels.
  2. I love fishing a frog. I'll generally throw them at anytime of the day.
  3. Cabelas has those combos on sale in their Fathers Day flyer right now.
  4. Nice catches! I've wanted to fish St Clair for a long time.
  5. Wow!! Nice catch!! Kudos to them for taking the effort to release it alive.
  6. Man, Murphy showed up big time on that day. Hang in there, you'll have much better days.
  7. Bear Paw Baits sells bulk packs. http://www.bearpawshandpouredbaits.com/index.html
  8. That a nice start to the day!
  9. Terminator T1 is all I've thrown for the past few years. I've tried others but always came back to the T1. They work and they keep working!
  10. Wow! Congrats! That Toledo Bend Lunker Program is a cool program!
  11. Nice fish! I'm waiting for the vegetation and pads to sow up. Just starting to see the Lilly emerge.
  12. Gamakatsu 4/0 EWG
  13. Got this beauty this afternoon. This is a pretty big fish for this area. Got it on a green pumpkin Sweet Beaver with the tip hi lighted in chartreuse w/ one of those garlic markers.
  14. I've been fishing the Keitech swim baits for a couple of years. They're great baits and I catch a lot of fish with them. A close second for me is the Reaction Innovations Skinny Dipper. I've also fished the SK Swimming Caffeine Shad quite a bit. As a swim bait by itself it's been ok. Not nearly as good as the Keitech baits. Im a big fan of the Rage Tail baits, especially the Rage Craw. I just hope these new swim baits live up to the Rage Tail quality and performance! Otherwise they don't have a chance of competing with Keitech in this arena! JMHO....YMMV
  15. For spinner baits I use a 6'-6" med. action rod with 14lb. Trilene XT. IMHO, this is the best setup for spinner bait fishing. I fish a lot of spinner baits. For topwater baits I use one of two different set ups. For smaller baits, I like a 7' med. action rod with 12 or 14lb. XT. For larger baits, I'll use a 7' med. heavy rod with 14lb. XT. YMMV
  16. The Diawa Aird or Procyon rods are real nice.
  17. I like the strike King Coffee Tubes a lot! If I'm going to fish a tubr, I'm usually throwing one of those.
  18. Lew's Speed Spool LFS or Bass Pro Pro Qualifier.
  19. Terminator spinnerbaits are my favorite. I mostly throw the double willow blade model.
  20. The stock bait that has come to the forefront for me over the course of this summer is the 5" Yum Dinger in green pumpkin w/ chartreuse tip. I generally Texas rig it and it flat out catches them! A close second is the Kalins Wac-O-Worm 5" in the Baby Bass color.
  21. I only throw Terminators or a couple of old Stanley's that I have left.
