  1. LOL!
  2. Gotta love a good frog bite.
  3. That's pretty damned cool! I've lived here all my life and would not have thought to throw something like that for bass in Michigan! d**n, I hear the bait monkey already! LOL! Nice job guys!
  4. Got out for about three hours tonight. Caught 6 total. 3 on wacky rigged Senko, 2 on swim jigs, 1 on a Booyah poppin' frog.
  5. I'm not sure what there is to defend. There are situations where both presentations would be appropriate.
  6. What's everybody's impression so far? Personally I seem to have better luck on the Missile Baits D-Bomb and the R.I. 4.20 Beaver.
  7. I tried the Berkley Power worm in 10" last season. It work pretty well for me. I haven't fished it yet this season. A little too early here in the north country.
  8. Actually this includes the Rage Bug and Rage Bug Magnum and 3.7 Rage Swimmer for 3.49 too. I didn't see the Rage Menace listed, maybe sold out. I just ordered a resupply of Rage Craws. Thanks for posting this!
  9. Welcome to Bass Resource! You have a good start with the three baits that you're using. One suggestion would be to add a spinner bait to the lineup. A spinner bait is a great bait to throw and catches a lot of fish. Start with 1/4 or 3/8oz. These are generally fished on a medium action rod with monofilament line. If you get into larger baits than 3/8oz. you would want to step up to a medium heavy action rod. There are a wide variety of colors naturally, but, a good start would be white w/ silver blades, white and chartreuse w/ one gold and one silver blade, and white, chartreuse, and blue with gold blades. For me, these will be all double willow leaf blades. I always have these basic colors in my spinnerbait box. If you fish at night a black spinnerbait with a large Colorado blade is hard to beat. The Colorado blade gives off more vibration thus allowing the fish to hone in on it easier. The black skirt creates a good profile for them to see. Personally I use a 6'-6" medium action baitcasting rod with 12 or 14lb. Trilene XT mono. As as far as brands go, there are a lot of good spinnerbait manufacturers out there but, my favorites are the Terminator T-1, Booyah, War Eagle, and the Mann's Classic. Good luck and I hope this helps.

    How about using something these?
  11. That's crazy stuff!
  12. Nice!
  13. Blasphemy! Actually I like the Paca Craw too but, the Rage Craw is still my favorite.
  14. I've been fishing swim Jigs lately and having good success with them. I've never been much of a jig fisherman so my selection is pretty modest. Where I generally fish, there is a lot of grass. I need some recommendations for some swim jigs that are good in grass.
  15. Just checked their web site. Tackle Warehouse had the pearl Caffeine Shads in stock.
  16. I picked up one of the Lew's Carbon Fie rods at Dick's not too long ago. 7' MHF action. At the time they had them for 69.99. I'm pretty impressed with it. It's actually lighter then my St. Croix Mojo Bass rod and in my experience has performed just as well.
  17. Not saying these are the best but, I've been happy using Power Pro or P-Line.
  18. Interesting info but, I'm going to stick with my Lew's and Shimano reels. They haven't let me down yet and if they do, both of these companies have a proven track record of standing behind their products. I'm a 'if it ani't broke, don't fix it' kind of guy.
  19. First and middle initial and last name, and yes I am the 3rd. ?
  20. Located in S.E. Mich, fishing western Lake Erie shore. It was windy with a front moving in just south of us this afternoon. Started out with a Super Fluke, working it over submerged grass. Caught a couple on that, with the first one going about 2.5lbs. Moved to another spot as nothing else bit after the two Fluke bass. Next spot was at the mouth of a creek. I worked a spot that was set back from the creek channel with grass and Lilly pads. The bass were chasing shad so I started with a yellow Terminator frog and hooked a nice 3.5 pounder on the second cast. Missed the next two bites as the wind was really playing havoc with my line. After a while they stopped hitting that Terminator so I switched up to a LiveTarget Field Mouse. I hooked one fish but he got off after wrapping me around some pad stems. Missed the next two on the mouse. I'm not real confident in the hooks on that bait. I usually don't miss bites with a frog. I switched to a Booyah Pad Crasher and proceeded to catch two more quality fish. I didn't get pictures of all of the fish caught but here's the ones that I got.
  21. Actually I was referring to the OP. Just keep fishing and and enjoy it dude. Everybody loses fish and baits. It's part of the game.
