I fish mainly for LM Bass in the western end of Lake Erie and some inland lakes. I don’t fish a lot of jigs except for swim jigs and all of them are green pumpkin, B&B or white.
The first two colors that I buy when stocking up on baits is green pumpkin and black and blue. I always make sure that I have those in the following baits; Rage Craw, D Bomb, Craw Fatty, Rage Menace, Power Worm, Senko, Yum Dinger, RI Beaver and Pitboss. Yes, B&B works great in Michigan.
What I don’t like is the “holier than thou's” who are all too eager to jump on someone. Let Ike be Ike. If we all conform to how others “think” we should act this would be a crappy world to live in. JMHO #ImOffendedFreeZone
Pistol grip or non-pistol grip? Back in the day I used to love throwing a spinnerbait with a 6’ M pistol grip rod. I could get a nice roll cast with it. But, the more modern rod handles make it a lot nicer to fight the fish once hooked. Especially the big 'uns!
FWIW the top five that have worked well for me is:
1. Missile Baits D Bomb
2a. Rage Craw
2b. Berkeley Chigger Craw
3a. RI Beaver 4.20
3b. Yum Christie Craw
YMMV
I’ve tried several hook for wacky rigging 5” senko style baits. I can’t really find one that I like. I typically like to use a weedless style hook due to the type of cover that I typically fish.
What is your go to wacky hook? Style, brand and size?
Not trying to derail this thread but, that’s a nice looking dog in your avatar. About the only thing that rivals bass fishing for me is upland bird hunting behind my setters!
No, when I’m not fishing, I generally have it stored under the seat or on the floor. Plus I have insurance so if it gets jacked I get to go shopping! ?
It does tend to get heavy at times but I generally do a clean out every couple of weeks....lol.
I’m primarily a shore fisherman. I just sorted and restocked my tackle tonight. This group of bags/boxes will ride in my truck the entire season. Obviously no one rides in my truck. LOL
The large cabelas tackle bag I carry while I fish. I try not to overload it which is a challenge!
Now or we just need a good week of over 50 degrees up here in the north country and we may be good to go!
