  1. The yellow water tight plano box are perfect for JJ's Majic the bottles will not tip over in the box because they just fit. I also keep a rag in there. This is by far the best way I have come up with and once you seal it shut you will never get any odor or leakage.
  2. You can still find NEW AG revo STX gen 2 on ebay for 150.00, cant beat it for the price.
  3. For someone that hates AG, you sure are in every thread about AG. Why can't you just let it go. We got it, you hate AG. Some of us, like me, have been using AG for over 30 yrs with no problems.
  4. Go on EBAY and find a GEN 2 REVO STX, I have bought several in the last month for 150.00 brand new. You cannot beat that price in any brand, PERIOD!!!
  5. Take care of it by means of simple maintenance and it will last forever, not sure why everyone on here has problems with AG reels, I fish with a lot of people who own them and we never had issues and I have a lot of them. You have to take what you hear in a forum with a grain of salt. People abuse their stuff and when it breaks and can't get it repaired for free they will bad mouth it and blame the product. Look at some of the photos of members boats, they are all junked up and they will be the ones saying " I never banged it or stepped on it, it just broke" Good quality reels just don't break, not even Shimano. ABU GARCIA FOR LIFE!!!
  6. I don't know what everyone does to their reels, but I have never had a problem with Abu Garcia reels. The only crappie reel I have is a Shimano, just sayin...That break looks to be from extreme force, not just from reeling it. The plastic look is casting, not plastic. I'm a NAVSEA NDT LEVEL III EXAMINER, I specialize in examining metal, not just blowing smoke. Harmon
  7. 7ft, medium / fast action. You do not need a med/hvy for small ponds. Usually you want to be able to throw light lures, med, is the way to go. Reel is what ever you like, i would suggest ABU GARCIA, but there are a lot of Shimano guys on here that will steer you that route.
  8. If you like it and it works for you, then it is a good set-up.
  9. 7ft is plenty long enough. I don't like anything longer.
  10. I have never had a problem with my REVO's, I just bought a REVO gen 3 premier and I like it, but I do like my GEN 2 better. I like the heavier feel of the GEN 2's. If I were you, I would go on EBAY, and get a new GEN 2 STX for 150.00. They have a lot on there for sale and cheap.
  11. I use a Dobyn's champion 736C, with revo STX 7:1 ratio. 60lb braid.
  12. I used one for a few cast while I was in Georgia, my son has the tourney pro. It was real nice and smooth, but I did not catch a fish so I can't make an accurate determination on how good it is with some torque on it.
  13. You got it backwards, If I pick up a reel and it grinding than yes, it is crap. Most of the good reels you pick up in a store and turn are smooth, and most of them cast a mile. No one seems to care how it feels with a fish on the end. I don't pick up many new reels that are grinding and noisy, but I only pick up quality reels.
