I have heard some people say that playing a stereo in your boat will scare fish away. I have heard people say that if it is quiet it won't matter. I have also heard people say that it does not matter at all, it won't bother the fish.
Thoughts?
For those of you with bass boats, how do you store rods on the water? Do you use an organizer in your rod locker or just use rod socks and pile them in?
Fireline, but I also use it on almost a dozen rods. I go through a LOT of line when I re-spool everything! I have a local shop that gives me a break on it when I buy that much.
If you want a good spinning rod for that kind of money that needs to last try out a Shimano Clarius, around $70 for a 7'2" or a 6'8" med/heavy fast action, and those will cover a lot of different baits for you. Plus they have a lifetime warranty!

I have four small children that often go fishing with me, so for me WARRANTY is another big factor! I agree with Papajoe, I already know exactly what I want before I walk in. Tight lines. Matthew
Does anyone have a good set of instructions for making your own rod locker rod holders? I know that people make them using golf tubes but I can't find good plans or descriptions...

Okay guys, what do you think? Pros and cons of each in comparison, which do you use when and which is your favorite application for one or the other?

I am very much not the expert, but in my humble opinion, I never really throw any top water stuff on a clear day, I have always found it to be stunningly unproductive.
As for colors, I would throw the white/char in clear to stained water and save the black for much more muddy waters.

Good couple tips from Gene in this video on how to organize for shore fishing.
All my gear that I most often use stays in the boat. I don't even keep the boat in the garage (that is for all my hunting stuff), if something gets stolen my insurance will replace it with brand new gear anyways!
I`m having a little trouble deciding when to throw a jig or change it out for something like a Texas rigged creature. Suggestions on when it is optimal to throw which would be more than welcome!

What are everyones views about writing info on cranks, such as depth? I have seen a number of people that do it in perminent marker but I'm not sure if that is a good move...

I used to use a rapala knife also, and practice is a huge part of the skill, but you will eventually hit a point when your equipment will start to get in the way. Check out the BUCK Clearwater series of fillet knives, they are very impressive for not much money.
