  1. As a kayaker I am offended by this remark. Have you ever paddled a kayak? There are some badass kayaks out there right now and if this was better than a kayak then I think there would be more than 1 dealer out there.
  2. For that price you can get an 8 foot Bass Raider and for cheaper you can get an inflatable pontoon kickboat and stores smaller. I feel like I would get it on the water and spin around in circles in that thing. For someone that lives in a small apartment with no storage at all and doesn't trust an inflatable this may be a good option though. I think they will need to bring down the price a bit too.
  3. Welcome to the board. I would go with whichever is lighter and maybe do a google search for reviews. And yes 15 is great. I have one of them 3.5 hangkais with a 15 inch shaft and it works great and I got it for less than 350 brand new.
  4. Same here. This and the size 29 battery do the trick and they stay put while on the water.
  5. Welcome to the boards. It all depends on how big you are. I think you will run out of elbow room before you exceed the weight limit in the boat. It has a 500lb limit so it can handle 2 big dudes but you will have to work out a system. There are a couple guys in a small one I see often on a local pond and they have it down to a science. I have watched em work a shoreline and they cover it thoroughly and quick.
  6. The new Ascend 128 sit on top with the swivel seat does not have a transom but the side works well as one. I do not have one but I am taking it into consideration on my next kayak purchase. The price is right.
  7. The MX may be my next kayak. I like the open floor for fly fishing.
  8. Kayak fishing is addicting but my kayak does not get much use since I got my Bass Raider. My biggest bass and biggest snook were both in a sneaky little kayak. I have been in my share of canoes and was never a big fan, always prefered john boats. Kayaking is really popular in my area because we have lots of no motor zones and flats which usually have the best fishing inshore. Most of my friends have ditched the Pro Anglers lately and moved on to the Cudas Predators and Slayers. They mostly complain about the weight when I asked them why they got rid of their Hobie. Plus they don't paddle well in the wind or current and the fins can be useless on the flats in a low tide. I can paddle my 12' Pescador faster than a 14' Pro Angler with turbo fins also. My buddy has a 16 foot Tarpon and he leaves us all in his wake while barely putting in any effort. I plan on upgrading soon and like the Old Town Predators myself. I will have to test drive a couple first but I want one I can paddle and stand in.

  15. 30 is way overkill for a kayak. I can make due with a bag or 2 depending on where I am fishing. K.I.S.S. is the system I use in my kayak. Paddlerz in 2 colors for salt and super flukes and a bag of worms for fresh. White is a good color anywhere. Bring some jigheads and some wide gaps and you have top bottom and middle covered. I also keep a 3600 plano with a spook or 2, a rattle trap or 2, and a couple cranks but I rarely use them. I keep everything including my lunch and a drink in a soft sided lunch pack with a big pocket on the front Kind of like this: .
  16. Babcock Webb is where I shot the videos. Some big bass in there and the water is super clear and shallow. I catch over 20 fish every time I go, one day I stopped counting at 40.Big bluegill in there too. Is that where you fished this weekend? Lots of little ramps in the Cape and I need to try em out some day. My buddy keeps trying to get me to go out at night and hit the snook lights in the salty canals. Hopefully he can make it this weekend. I've done Ceitus and Kismet launches for the salt but I have not tried any freshwater canals in the Cape.
  17. I got skunked on the snook yesterday. 25mph gusts and a fly rod only lead to frustration. lol I did do well today, lots of bass and a few bluegill all on the fly. I shot another little video of a few I caught today. Caught a nice 5.65 lb bass and wish I got to her last week when she was fat with eggs.
  18. I have a Kodak Easyshare Sport for still images and I just got a cheapo Ematic Sportscam video camera that is pretty cool. Here is a video I shot a couple weeks ago. I got the flu and didn't fish last week. I will be on the water tomorrow for some more footage. I am going after snook on the fly tomorrow. Here are some bass on the fly while I was fishing for bluegill.
  19. I have a 3.5 and bends the transom at full throttle. 4hp may be overkill but worth a try if it is a good deal.
  20. That plastic should be hard and not able to collapse. Maybe something is chemically wrong with it. Like fishcat says, mine floats like a cork.
  21. It collapsed on you? It is hard to imagine without a picture. Is there a hole somewhere else? Like in the bottom from dragging it. I can take my boat all day without a rubrail and still not sink, I haven't done it but even in the salt water unless there is a big wave or boat wake the water is not reaching the rubrail. My rubrail is actually a little torn up in spots from tieing off to docks in the chop and going to get my trailer and I still never get water inside. Anyways if you want a new rubrail you can buy one here for $60: http://www.pedalboat.com/parts/parts.php If you have a whole from dragging it you can get a plastic welding kit from Harbor Freight here: http://www.harborfreight.com/catalogsearch/result?q=plastic+welding Good luck.
  22. I had mine in the salt, Matlacha Pass, this weekend and even got hit by a few big boat wakes and this thing is stable and dry as you can get for $500. And I can go where the kayakers go and the $30,000 flats boats can't. I did have a Carolina Skiff fly by me in a no wake zone and I flipped em off. Next time I will bring some rocks to throw at em. lol
  23. It sounds like PA is trying to get your money. Down here we only need inspections and to be weighed if it is a home made trailer or a trailer without a title.
  24. Did you get the title from the manager when you bought it? Mine came with a title that the manager had to sign over to me. I think it cost like 30 bucks for a 2 year registration and a like 15 for a plate.
  25. I had a Cherokee before and I would not hesitate to put this up there or at least try it. I had a 98 and the roof was pretty stiff and ridged instead of flat like most car roofs.
