  1. This. The ALX IKOS M/F is called the Soul. It’s an excellent all around spinning rod. I have it paired with a Stradic FL 2500. It’s my wife’s go to rod when she fishes and she throws a variety of baits. Miravel looks promising, but other excellent reels in the $99 range are the Fuego LT (light) and BG (robust).
  2. Price already went up $10. Hurry!
  3. My apologies. In your previous post you were implying that you were interested in the Zillion SV, but I wasn’t aware you were inactive. Sorry to hear. With that many reels, I personally would sell some and buy couple Zillions for whenever you make your return, even if it is months/years from now. They are that good!
  4. Gotcha. Appreciate the reply. Do some research on the newer Zillion SV before you totally pass on Daiwa. Tons of feedback on this forum in the recent months. What are you waiting for? ?
  5. Out of curiosity, what Daiwas models did you have bad experiences with?
  6. Just in case you are not aware, the Dobyns Fury MH is more like a medium. So if you also get a Heavy Aird X, you will be missing a true MH. As far as reels, I also recommend the Zillion SV. If you are trying to get 2 reels under $200 total, I would look into getting a used Tatula 100 and 150.
  7. I haven’t personally tried, them but the newer updated XTs seem to have good reviews.
  8. Is it the same weight?
  9. I wear M/L gloves and the Zillion SV just melts in my hand. It’s perfect to me.
  10. ALX usually has their 3 rod bundle sale starting sometime in November. So might be right around the corner.
  11. I have around 12 ALX rods and love them. I have quite a few Zolos but unfortunately don’t have the Crank or Grind. I use the Hustler for my cranks. Like WBR suggested, contact Alex the owner with any question you may have. I have asked him tons of questions before purchases and he has always been happy to help. I’m sure I drove him nuts with all my questions, but he super patient and informative each time. I highly recommend their rods. They are always overlooked because they are smaller company but they build amazing rods and Alex. My friend/fishing partner buys any ALX rod I’m willing to sell no questions asked…haha. He bought most of my IKOS when I transitioned to Zolos. I don’t have an Enox rods yet but hopefully one day soon.
  12. I hope Gary starts his own thing too. He has been extremely helpful over the years and they were one of my favorite places to order from.
  13. No worries. Appreciate your info. Makes no sense that Plano decided to go even thinner on the 3600 box. No one there considered the length of most weed guards although it’s advertised as a jig box?
  14. So just to verify, this is the 3700 size box and NOT the 3600 right?
  15. Good info thanks. Question…do you usually trim your weedguards or do you leave them stock? I was hoping to use the box for my jackhammers, swiimjigs and jigs. So seems like they scaled down the box to the 3600 size instead of using the same thickness of the 3700?
  16. Does anyone have the newer Plano Edge Jig/Bladed Jig box in the 3600 size? I believe it's newer and just trying to gauge how many jigs/bladed jigs can fit in the box. I have the 3700 size but also want the 3600 size too. Any info or pics are appreciated. Thanks.
  17. Just FYI… 5” Senkos are 0.35 oz 4” Fat Ikas are 0.40 oz
  18. I have mine on an iRod Genesis Swimbait Jr to throw S Waivers and other swim baits. Love the reel.
  19. I fish Fat Ikas on the regular and I use a ALX Zolo Deputy which is a 7’1” MH/Fast. I have experimented using different combos and I have had the most success by far using the MH/Fast.
  20. Dark Sleeper
  21. Looking for a new or used ALX Zolo Toadface. Let me know. Thanks.
  22. Super quick! Have ordered from Digitaka multiple times and from Japan to my house takes about 3-4 days. Can’t beat that!
