  1. Good choices. I am a Spyderco guy myself. Being a bank guy that hikes, I usually have 2 Spydercos and a Esse-4 on me. Here is my Native Salt that I brought home to Hawaii.
  2. Although finesse presentations, wouldn’t tubes and Ned rigs still be in the bottom contact category?
  3. Just received this as a gift. I like it.
  4. I have multiple TW shirts still in the package. They are duplicates of the colors I already use.
  5. I just had a bunch of my Zillion SVs/HD etc serviced by someone that knows what he is doing. I personally rather pay a pro than take the risk. I want to be able to do it myself but I’m not confident enough. Maybe one day I’ll risk it, and if I do, it’s going to be on one of my cheaper reels.
  6. Yamamoto recently came out with 3” Zakos.
  7. Out of curiosity, about the LV 500 do you like more than the RES and Trap? I think I had a few but never had any luck with those things.
  8. By Vangard I’m assuming you mean Vanford? Good choice and let us know how you like it.
  9. I didn’t quit. I just took extended breaks here and there.
  10. Interested and will be following.
  11. That’s called an assist. Excellent teamwork.
  12. I have adjusted every single one of my zero adjuster knobs. Some people leave it as is. Some people adjust it. I have purchased multiple reels that were preset differently from the factory out of the box.
  13. My PB was caught on a RES, but I still use a mix of them. - RES - Traps - Yozuri Rattlin Vibes - Booyah Knockers - Xcalibur’s
  14. Gotcha. I would loosen it and remove the knob. Then reset everything again then tighten. Sometimes the bearing/bushing is not seated correctly.
  15. Is it stock knobs? Have you ever removed the knobs before? I’ve learned that when switching/replacing knobs it might take a few tries to get it to set correctly. I push down the knobs when tightening and sometimes it feels snug when it actually isn’t.
  16. They are both are good in their own way. Personally I prefer the RES for yo-yoing. It has a better shimmy on the fall. The Rat L Traps come with better stock hooks. With the RES, the stock hooks are horrible, and I always change them out to Mustad Triple Grips. The Rat L Trap already comes with the Mustads.
  17. This is true for the Zolos and IKOS too, but to be honest I never noticed it until I read about it. For me, I guess it’s a plus, because it’s the most comfortable rods I ever felt in my hands.
  18. @PressuredFishing Appreciate the info!
  19. I’m not the OP but I would like to hear your recommendation.
  20. Enox, Zolos and Onix are made in South Carolina. The IKOS series is assembled in SC. You guys are killing me and make me want to get a Decoy.
  21. I wish I could cast and reel both ways. Right hand dominant, but grew up using spinning reels so my baitcasters are the same way. If your RH baitcasters are old, sell them and buy some new LH baitcasters. I don’t work for the Bait Monkey, but we are friends.
  22. Fair enough. Hate is a strong word so I was just curious. I had 2017 Tatula SVs and loved them until I got the Zillion SVs/HD. Sold all of my Tat SVs to my fiend who loves them. If you are interested in trying a Daiwa again, definitely go with the Zillion SV or HD or both.
  23. Out of curiosity, what about the Tatula SV did you hate? And did you have the 2017 or 2020 model?
  24. All my rods are mostly ALX Zolos and I love them all. Still have couple IKOS but my friend bought most of them and now he is buying more Zolos too. I have the Dragger and have used it for Jigs/T-rigs and even small Swimbaits. Been tempted to get couple Enox models but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. Alex the owner is extremely patient and helped me choose the best models for my situationss on multiple occasions. Call or email him and I’m sure he would be more than happy to help. They also currently have their 3 rod bundle sale which they only do once a year.
