  1. So I recently started hearing a clicking noise on both my 2500 and 3000 Stradic Ci4+ (newer model). The noise occur randomly every so many rotations and sounds exactly like the clicking noise when rotating the drag except the sound is a single click. The sound also occurs when the drag is either loose or tight. A few weeks ago I removed the spool and handle on both reels for the first time to do a basic wipe down and oiling. The reels never made this sound prior to the cleaning. I have braid on both reels and braid was also on the reel prior to having this issue. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
  2. This is my theory. If I did a 1 arm tug of war with someone, I would want my dominant hand holding the rope. So my dominant hand holds the rod when I play tug of war with a fish.
  3. I have the Fuego LT 2500 and love it. Purchased it for $75 and very hard to beat at that price. I looked at the BG but it felt way to heavy to me. I prefer lighter reels. The Fuego LT is the first spinning reel I always recommend in the $75-$100 range. I think it comes down to what you are looking for in a spinning reel.
  4. I have tried multiple backpacks and my favorite so far is the Gamakatsu. Extremely well made and extremely comfortable. The set up is perfect for what I need. Only thing would make it perfect is a bottle holder and maybe a specific plier holder. I can fit a 32oz hydroflask along with a ton of plastics in the top portion. Here are some other suggestions. Some are specific fishing backpacks while others are not. - Samurai Tactical Fishing backpack - Samurai Tactical Hanzo - Samurai Tactical Wakizashi - SOG Ninja Tactical daypack - Spyderwire Fishing backpack - High Sierra backpacks - Ugly Stik tackle backpack - Red Gill backpack - Flambeau Portage backpack - Tackle Warehouse Angler backpack - Plano A,E, Z Series - Shimano Moon backpack - Daiwa Tactical backpack - Tacklewarehouse backpack - Wild River
  5. I have seen a few on IG. They made a limited run and they were selling it at only a few Academy’s and sold out quick.. I believe the concept was invented by someone else in the early 90’s. I can’t remember his name. Interesting for sure.
  6. From pictures, I always thought the Zman blue craw was 1/2 green pumpkin and 1/2 light blue? So it’s 1/2 watermelon?
  7. The best I have found after trying multiple different ones is the Reaction Tackle pliers. Comes in both straight nose and split ring nose. The cutters is excellent too. Awesome pliers for $15-$17.
  8. Which did you like better between the HMG and Ardito? I currently have a Ardito spinning rod but will probably be purchasing a travel casting rod in the future.
  9. Almost all my stock hooks get swapped out unless they come with Mustad triple grips. Everything else gets swapped out with the triple grips. But to start out, I always changed stock hooks from Strike King. I learned the hard way after losing 2 good fish.
  10. Gotcha. Appreciate the info!
  11. What sizes of the Denny Brauer do you normally use?
  12. Tatula SV. Places have them on sale all the time. Never paid more than $150 for them. Last one was $135 brand new.
  13. Black/Black Cavitron modified so the blade doesn’t have room to move on the wire. No trailer or trailer hook.
  14. San Diego Jam and Alberto.
  15. I have researched and also purchased more backpacks than I can count and I don’t think that there is any backpack that meets your requirements. Your best bet would be to bring a separate cooler but even that could be a problem on a bike. This would also give you more backpack options.
  16. Cool thanks. I never have anyplace that I really need to skip so I never really tried it.
  17. What is your brake and tension knob setting when skipping?
  18. No problem. I tie the San Diego Jam for my main knot which uses the same concept of finishing the knot by going through the loop on the same side. A lot of videos fail to mention that important detail.
  19. I think what he means is that the tag end of the leader needs to go in the loop on the same side that the main line is. If not I’m misunderstanding too. But here is a pic for reference on how I do it.
  20. I use the Alberto exclusively. I do 7 wraps down and 10 back up. Never had any problems. Once the leader is tied, I reel up until the knot is at the tip of the rod. I then measure my leader by matching it to the length of the rod (to the butt). If done this way, the leader knot will always be above the reel.
  21. This is why I hope Plano makes a 3600 size jig box in the future.
  22. Same here. Also have them rigged on a chatterbait with skirt removed.

    Scale

I have weighed different items including a 2lb weight on the Dr Meter scale and a rapala scale and came up with the exact same numbers.

    Scale

The Dr Meter scales on amazon are hard to beat for the price. I have owned both the old and upgraded version and they both work great. They used to be around $9-12 but looks like prices went up couple dollars but still worth it in my opinion.
