  1. There's a small pond not far from me in no man's land between the US and Canada borders. It's owned by the local Rod and Gun club and if you're a member there you can fish it all you want but they have kept it C&R for decades now. It's not too hard to catch 50+ bass in a day but out of those 50+ you'll be lucky to see one over 2 lbs. After fishing it off and on for 7 yrs the largest I've seen come out of there was 3 1/2 lbs. I'm also convinced it's lack of forage.
  2. Thanks for the welcome guys. I'm hoping to spend Tuesday on the lake with a kid from work. I outfished him two weeks ago and he's looking for redemption so it will be fun.
  3. Just signed up here today to ask a question about a reel I have issues with. Looks like I may be sticking around so figured I would introduce myself. I live in Creston, BC which is spitting distance from the Idaho border. Not a whole lot of bass lakes here but I'm lucky enough to have one of the best in the province only 15 minutes away. It's called Duck Lake and while it's small and shallow you can have some great days catching lots of bass. In fact when the wife and I decided to move out of the city (Calgary) and to a small town the bass fishing here was a big reason why we chose Creston. That and I got a job here before we even moved. We even catch bass through the winter when there's enough ice on the lake. That was a first for me seeing how I was born and raised in Texas and ice on a bass lake seemed like fairy tale. When I'm not working or bass fishing I'm flying RC Helicopters. In the winter when it's too cold to fly and not enough ice for ice fishing I hit the big lake (Kootenay Lake) with my buddy in his boat and we target Gerrard Rainbows. I guess that's enough about me for now.
  4. Thanks Hootie. That's what I usually do too and in fact did that with this one. For some reason I put it in a different cupboard than I usually do so that's why I thought I had tossed it.
  5. I just got done digging around in my hobby room and actually found the box AND the receipt. This should now be easier than I thought.
  6. It's a graphite frame. I have family in Calgary so I'll see if I can ship it to them and get them to try and get it replaced in store. Thanks for the fast reply
  7. Last month I bought two Bass Pro Tourney Special reels model TSP10HC. One reel works fine but the other is stiff to turn once it's mounted on a rod. When it's like this the spool is also tighter. If I loosen the hold down on the rod it frees up but it has to be loose enough so then the reel isn't tight in the seat so it moves a bit. If I try to find a sweet spot between too loose and too tight it works ok until I hook a fish and then it gets almost notchy when you reel it in. I've tried it on three different brands of baitcasting rods and no difference. Could the frame of the reel be flexing when the seat is tightened down and binding the spool shaft? Anyone else ever have this happen with a reel? I'm at a loss as to what the issue could be. I've used lots of different models of baitcasters in my life and never once had an issue like this. Any ideas? I'll probably try to return it somehow but I bought it from the BPS in Calgary when I was there last month. That's a six hour drive and I don't see myself going back there anytime soon. I also think I already tossed the box and receipt.
