Has anyone built their own covered shelter for a canoe/boat? If so, how did you do it and what materials did you use? If I buy a poly canoe, I want to store it outside on a trailer, and keep it shaded, under a cover of some sort.
Pics would be great. Thanks.
Thanks Rhino. If I keep it on a trailer, how is it best covered? I read that a tarp cannot touch the hull because it will cause mold. What type of cover would be best, and how are you guys covering your poly canoe(to keep cover from touching boat?
Does anyone use a portable shelter/canopy for your boat? If so, is there one you would recommend?
I'm thinking about 10' X 20'. One company I was looking at is Ecanopy.com
Thanks.
If you store a poly canoe outside, how do you do it? In the shade? On sawhorses? On a trailer?
I'm considering a square stern poly canoe, but I want to be able to store it outside on a trailer. Will that be possible?
Thanks.
I was considering the Lure 11.5 also, but decided I'm going to buy the Nucanoe Frontier. What clinched it is the elevated/swivel seating and the great stability. My back will be very happy !!
I was looking at the truck bed extenders on Harbor Freight's website, but they are meant for a Class 3, 2" receiver. My mini van has a Class 2 receiver. Is there an adapter I can buy so I can use their extender? If so, where can I find it? Thanks.
A-Jay, how does your canoe differ from the Old Town Saranac square stern model at Dick's? Have you ever seen the one at Dick's in person? I know the seats are different, but do you know what else? Thanks.
Check out the Trailer section at Texaskayakfisherman.com. There's a lot of pics of kayak trailer builds using the Harbor Freight trailers, boat trailers, and jet ski trailers.
Click on "Kayak Rigging" then "Post Your Trailer".
Ken, did you ever buy a kayak? I'm also interested in the Big Game 2, Predator 12' and Nucanoe Frontier 12'(for the stability and square transom). Thanks.
The floor of the 115X and 115 Advanced Angler appear to different, correct? The floor of the 115X appears to be really cluttered. Is there actually room for your feet to stand? Thanks.
I'm also considering the Frontier 12' and the new Native Ultimate FX12. Being used to a SOT, I don't know if I want a hybrid type though. I have to get my butt in them to try them out.
I do like the option of using a trolling motor on the Frontier if desired.
I'm interested in the Lure 10', but 69 lbs. seems heavy for a 10 footer, doesn't it? Do you think that's the weight with the seat?
Speaking of the seat, is it comfortable?
